We want to focus on players in York, Chester and Lancaster Counties in this series of stories who will be competing during the 2021 season. Some of them you may have already heard of in previous stories and others you may have not.
These are the players ranked 1 through 58:
Chester – QB/FS Zan Dunham Zan Dunham 6'2" | 215 lbs | ATH Chester | 2022 State SC
Analysis: Dunham is one of the most versatile and gifted athletes we’ve seen on tape. He plays safety on defense and plays the run well as many guys are not able to find running lanes against him. He fills the alley well and comes up to lay the lumber. But he really excels at the quarterback position in Coach Victor Floyd’s offense. He’s a dual threat at 6’3 and can put the ball right in the bread basket on the run or hurt you with his legs as he’s tough to bring down. He’s got offers from Tennessee, Coastal Carolina, Virginia Tech, Liberty. That list will only continue to grow heading into the season.
South Pointe – DB Quan Peterson Quan Peterson 6'1" | 175 lbs | DB South Pointe | 2022 State SC – Check out our analysis of Peterson here from our York Co. Watch List series.
York – WR Jevon Long Jevon Long 5'9" | 150 lbs | WR York | 2022 State SC
*2020 Season Stats: 20 receptions, 315 yards, 5 TDs through 7 games in 3 starts
Analysis: Long is a quick and shifty receiver who plays primarily in the slot. We noticed on several times watching his film that once he catches a shallow route, he quickly gets up field and can get 5 to 15 yards in a hurry. But where he makes game changing plays is in the kickoff return game. If this guy finds an alley, he turns on the jets for a quick six points which was a frequent occurrence in 2020. He was the Special Teams Player of the Year in the 4A classification, voted on by local area coaches. He is a strong student in the classroom with a 3.5 GPA.
