With a few of the country’s best at the top of the list and several potential hidden gems further down, college recruiters have plenty to choose from in the Peach State. Here’s a look at a few names to watch this offseason and in the fall of 2021.
Gunner Stockton Gunner Stockton 6'1" | 220 lbs | QB Rabun County | 2022 State GA – Rabun County
Stockton can easily make the case for the No. 1 overall prospect in the state. A true-dual threat, Stockton has been posting astounding numbers since his freshman season at Rabun County. This past season as a junior, the 6-1, 220-pound signal-caller tallied 4,709 total yards while being responsible for 71 total touchdowns. He completed 67% of his passes for 3,128 yards with 45 touchdowns to only four interceptions. On the ground, he rushed for 1,581 yards (8.3 average) with another 26 scores.
Stockton’s recent decommitment from South Carolina and subsequent commitment to the University of Georgia made national news in recruiting circles. He remains our No. 1-ranked quarterback in Georgia and could step in to compete for immediate playing once on a college campus.
M.J. Morris M.J. Morris 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Pace Academy | 2022 State GA – Pace Academy
Morris comes in as the third-ranked quarterback in the class but rose to the No. 9 overall prospect in the state in our latest rankings. Morris is certainly one of the best players in the state. At 6’1” and 175 pounds, he will need to continue to improve his strength but what he lacks in size he makes up for in spades with his skills.
As a passer, Morris looks the part. He shows a great instinct moving in the pocket, avoiding the rush while keeping his eyes downfield. Has the ability to drive the ball when needed and also shows excellent touch on back-shoulder throws to the sideline. Possess excellent open-field speed which is ideal for the modern-day RPO spread offenses. Morris holds offers from nearly every major program in the country and will be a prized signee wherever he lands.
A.J. Swann A.J. Swann 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Cherokee | 2022 State GA – Cherokee
Swann has been steadily making his way up the recruiting rankings for the past 12 months and should continue his ascension into his senior year. An excellent arm-talent, Swann enjoyed a breakout junior season while helping lead Cherokee back to the 7A playoffs. He finished 158-for-262 passing for 2,505 yards with 23 touchdowns and six interceptions. At 6’3” and 200 pounds, Swann continues to grow into a college frame, and in terms of his passing ability, there is little to be desired. He shows excellent accuracy while on the move and has improved his mobility greatly over the past 12 months. Even as our No. 5-ranked quarterback and the No. 32 overall prospect, Swann could still be flying under the radar.
Devin Farrell Devin Farrell 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Milton | 2022 State GA – Milton
Farrell made a jump from outside our rankings to the No. 54 overall prospect in the state. He comes in as our No. 7-ranked quarterback and could continue to improve his stock over the next 12 months especially given the fact he will be at the helm of one of the more talented rosters in the state next fall.
Milton’s offense is led by @Devvxn1, an elite two-sport athlete and dual threat at the QB position. @NDFootball commit @JackNickel86 on the receiving end of this one. pic.twitter.com/goiViobo1C

Farrell (6’0”, 192) held offers from Duke, Georgia Tech and Wake Forrest among others, but his recent commitment to Virginia Tech may have quelled any further recruitment. He should be considered among the best mobile quarterbacks in the state. As a junior, he finished second on his team with 553 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. He also made teams pay through the air in 2020, finishing 125-for-198 passing for 1,812 yards with 13 touchdowns to only three interceptions. Farrell is difficult to keep in the pocket and his ability to improvise and extend plays is one of his best attributes. Farrell made crucially clutch plays during Milton’s region championship win last fall and looks like a prospect with the ability to perform at a high level in college.
