Listed below are electric playmakers who have shown their skills on the field and who still have room to grow. The potential for all of these young men are through the roof and the opportunities will soon present themselves for every single one. This offseason will be key in their development before they head into their last years. The names listed will be ones you may hear a lot of during the season and possibly at the next level.
Tyler King, Alief Taylor – King displays excellent speed out of the slot position as well as in the backfield. He is a player who when lined up at any position will give you a positive play. In the slot, he is an instant mismatch. With his speed, he can easily run through a secondary uncontested and break their coverage, providing big play threat for his team. King shows incredible wiggle and elusiveness when the ball is in his hands. He is excellent in the return game, showing the ability to put his offense in great field position on all returns. King has very good vision as well, seeing open lanes and having the ability to create in tight spaces. He is an absolute playmaker who can break into daylight at any moment and leave opponents in the dust. Through only 5 games, King put his talents on display. This offseason will be a very good one for him and expect him to come back stronger, faster, and more hungry. He will catch a few eyes next season.
Dillon Bell Dillon Bell 6'2" | 200 lbs | WR The Kinkaid School | 2022 State TX , Kinkaid – Bell is a great example of a receiver with the tremendous combination of strength and speed. Watching what Bell does with the ball in his hands is pure excitement. He is a physical athlete who does in all for his team in order to get the job done. He is a nightmare for defenders. Off the line he can beat you with his speed and overpower you for the ball. His run after catch ability is exceptional. Bell turns screens into touchdowns in an instant. When asked to carry the ball, he looks like a top running back in the state. Bell does not go down easily and delivers the blow to the opposition. He shows incredible vision and awareness. Bell is a game changer and his film backs it up. He has a great frame and size, and uses it to his advantage just as he should. As of now, Bell holds 9 offers but anticipate his name to blow up in the near future. Bell is a true baller with great talent and it will soon be rewarded even more.
Amir Turner, Cypress Lakes – Turner is another big bodied, physical receiver who shows excellent ability in open space. One thing that caught my eye was Turner’s route running. He has great drive and speed off of the line. His long strides put him past a defensive back in a flash. Turner can beat you deep or turn a short reception into a big play. He has good hands and makes contested catches look easy. Very good run after catch and blocks with a purpose. He is a player with growing potential and skill. Turner is a player who will put his name on peoples boards next season.
Cameron Price, St. Thomas – Price is an incredible weapon in the slot. He displays great quickness, speed, and physicality. He is unafraid of contact and makes the big plays happen. Price shows that he can be a deep threat, a safety valve, and an excellent ball carrier. He can stretch a defense with his deep route running and make the big catch, showing his incredible ball skills, as well as turn an arch screen into a touchdown. Price finishes runs with power and strength, and does whatever it takes to make a positive play. Price plays with so much skill that he will soon have people on notice. I expect his name to break through much sooner than later because of his production on the field.
Andrew Alexander, Summer Creek – Alexander is a speedy receiver who takes the top off of a defense. Alexander shows exceptional awareness in finding the open areas in zone coverage and accelerating to the spots in order to make the big play catches. He has fantastic agility, and shows his top notch speed on runs after the catch. He is one missed tackle away from a house call when he possesses the ball. Alexander shows off his soft hands and can high point the ball when needed. He can play wherever he is needed on the field and will make the plays for his team. Alexander is an excellent talent who will have to work to get his name out there, but he is more than capable of doing so.
Jhaylen Bailey, North Shore – Bailey will be another name added to the incredible list of talent to come out of the North Shore program. Bailey is a great receiver with incredible speed and ball skills. He catches the ball with confidence and is always looking to run after the catch to show off his after burners. Only good things happen when the ball is in his hands. Bailey is a true play maker with the ball and shows incredible skill and wiggle in the open space. Bailey is a player who is expected to break through the ceiling and have his name talked about all over.
Trudell Berry, Lee – Berry plays much bigger than what he is on the field. He is excellent in one vs one situations and climbs the ladder to make difficult, contested catches. Berry is a true deep threat who possesses incredibly strong hands. In the redzone, anticipate the ball to go his way, and expect him to make the big catch. Berry is a physical receiver with good speed who bullies defensive backs. He will be a player to follow going into and during his senior year. Berry has the potential to have a breakout season and put his name on the map.
Alijah Gooden-Dottin, Cypress Ridge – Gooden-Dottin is excellent at breaking zone coverages. He does a great job of locating the weak spots and becoming an open target for his quarterback. With the ball, Gooden-Dottin shows great agility and elusiveness. He has the ability to put his foot in the ground and accelerate passed defenders, putting his speed on display. Gooden-Dottin shows excellent concentration on deep throws and very good hands on catches. His awareness and ability to know where he is on the field stands out on film as well. He is a player to keep on your list of “To-Know” guys because this playmakers name will soon be on the rise.
