While Holmes and Winters are worth talking about, there are some other QB’s in this class who I’d like to introduce you to.
Ty Hurst 6’1 155 Talmadge HS- Watching the film the first thing that pops out about Ty’s game is how quickly he gets the ball out. His ability to make anticipatory throws and ball placement is impressive for a high school Sophomore. Hurst will look to do most of his damage from the pocket, but has the mobility and athleticism to avoid a rush. As he continues to fill out and improve upon his arm strength, he’s going to be a thorn in the side of opposing defensive coordinators as he picks apart their defenses.
Nikko Georgiou 6’1 180 Kenston HS- Nikko is a QB who can make plays both in and out of structure. When he’s in the pocket he has a good feel for the offense and where he’s looking to go with the ball. When he’s on the move Georgiou does a good job of keeping his eyes downfield and finding open receivers. He’s also a threat to run for big yards if the defense loses containment. The Kenston coaches do a good job of utilizing Nikko’s running ability by moving the pocket and utilizing his ability to throw on the run. As he fills out and continues to add to his arm strength he’s going to develop into a QB that can make plays at the next level.
Bryce Schondelmyer 6’2 190 Arcanum HS- What I like about Bryce’s game is his discipline when it comes to going through his reads. You can consistently see Bryce moving from read to read. His arm strength allows him to put the ball in tight windows that many QB’s can’t. Because of his arm strength he’s also able to make throws without being set and while taking a hit. He can make all of the throws. Bryce’s dad is a long time head coach in the Miami Valley and his current coach at Arcanum, and under his tutelage he has the opportunity to develop into a strong college prospect.
Jacob Snow 6’2 195 Mentor HS- Snow has the size and the arm talent that has the look of a young QB with a really high ceiling. He has arm strength to make all of the big throws. As he gets more reps within the varsity offense I expect him to begin to really open up within the Cardinal offense. His arm strength is going to carry him at times, but when he puts it all together he’s going to be a really fun player to watch.
