That class just finished up their freshman season and as of right now, the class isn’t that deep, but it has some excellent talent at the top. Obviously, a ton of prospects will emerge over the next few years. But for now, this is our first look at the 2024 class. David StoneDavidStone6'5" | DLDel City | 2024StateOK - DL - Del City - We’re breaking down athletes alphabetically but it just so happens that we’re starting with the number one overall prospect in our first batch of 2024 rankings. Del City is loaded with talent right now and one of the youngest of the group might be the most special prospect. Defensive lineman David StoneDavidStone6'5" | DLDel City | 2024StateOK certainly doesn’t look like a typical freshman, coming in at 6’5 and over 250 pounds. At the time of this post, Stone is the only prospect in the 2024 class to pick up a D1 offer. It’s not often that freshmen pick up offers but Stone is clearly special. Ezra BallingerEzraBallinger6'5" | OLNOAH | 2024StateOK - OL - NOAH - It’s not very often that you’ll see prospects from NOAH considered as top prospects in Oklahoma. For those not familiar with NOAH, it’s a team in the Tulsa area that features home-schooled athletes. Ezra BallingerEzraBallinger6'5" | OLNOAH | 2024StateOK is the son of one of the coaches for NOAH and in 2020, he had a dominating season. NOAH plays a completely independent schedule and faces a combination of varsity and junior varsity teams in Oklahoma. Ballinger already appears to be a dominating tackle prospect. At 6’5 and continuing to grow, he’s one to watch. Isaac CovingtonIsaacCovington5'11" | DBBooker T Washington | 2024StateOK - DB - Booker T Washington - It should come as no surprise that Booker T Washington has a pair of prospects on this list. The Hornets have yet another star in the making with our first BTW prospect. Isaac CovingtonIsaacCovington5'11" | DBBooker T Washington | 2024StateOK made plays on both sides of the ball in 2020. He was a good running back but he made the majority of his impact as a safety on defense. However, with former Hornet running back Jaiden CarrollJaidenCarroll5'10" | RBJenks | 2023StateOK now at Jenks, Covington’s role in the Hornet offense might expand. While we’ll watch that develop, we like Covington as the next big time DB at Booker T Washington. Jayden OatesJaydenOates6'1" | LBBooker T Washington | 2024StateOK - LB - Booker T Washington - The second half of the Booker T Washington duo is linebacker Jayden OatesJaydenOates6'1" | LBBooker T Washington | 2024StateOK. While Covington is a potential two-way star for the Hornets, Oates gets his work done on defense only. You throw on his film and it’s very clear to see that he has a bright future when it comes to getting after the quarterback. Oates appeared to be at his best when he lined up closer to the line of scrimmage. His physical build suggests he’ll be more of a linebacker down the line. It’s going to be very interesting to see how he grows after a quick start to his career. Jino BoydJinoBoyd6'0" | WRUnion | 2024StateOK - WR - Union - The first of two Union prospects on this list is wide receiver Jino BoydJinoBoyd6'0" | WRUnion | 2024StateOK. The Union speedster hasn’t made an impact on the varsity level yet, but the key word there is yet. There is only a matter of time before Boyd becomes an impact player in this Union offense. Boyd has good size but it’s certainly the speed that makes him a prospect on the rise. While Union’s offense was at it’s best when it was running the ball in 2020, don’t be surprised if Boyd is a breakout player during the 2021 season as a home run threat receiver. Knox DysonKnoxDyson6'3" | QBOwasso | 2024StateOK - QB - Owasso - Every now and then, you hear about a player before he even enters high school. Owasso is absolutely loaded at the quarterback position right now. The youngest of the bunch is Knox DysonKnoxDyson6'3" | QBOwasso | 2024StateOK, a freshman quarterback that was featured by recruiting services before his freshman season. As a freshman, Dyson looked the part in limited action. He appears to have all the physical tools of a prototypical quarterback and the hype is certainly loud around him. But as we mentioned, the QB depth chart is stacked and playing time might be limited. Kordell GouldsbyKordellGouldsby5'11" | ATHHolland Hall | 2024StateOK - ATH - Holland Hall - Holland Hall was absolutely dominant in 2020, winning a state championship. What’s scary is they could have been even better. Kordell GouldsbyKordellGouldsby5'11" | ATHHolland Hall | 2024StateOK was in the middle of a breakout season when he had his freshman year end abruptly with a knee injury. Gouldsby is expected to be the next quarterback of the Dutch when he gets back to 100 percent and they’ll have a dynamic athlete in the backfield when he takes that spot. He’s the younger brother of Marc GouldsbyMarcGouldsby6'2" | WRHolland Hall | 2021StateOK, who was an outstanding receiver for the Dutch. Lane WoodLaneWood6'3" | TEUnion | 2024StateOK - TE - Union - The second Union prospect in this breakdown is tight end Lane WoodLaneWood6'3" | TEUnion | 2024StateOK. And unlike Boyd, Wood saw some serious time at the varsity level already. It’s easy to see why as Wood is 6’3 and over 200 pounds. He certainly looks the part already at a young age. Wood made an impact in his time playing varsity football and the ceiling for him is very high. Whether it’s as a blocker, becoming an extension of an already impressive offensive line, or a receiver, Wood will be a name to watch at Union over the next three years. Raymond CorreaRaymondCorrea6'3" | DLJones | 2024StateOK - DL - Jones - One of the first freshmen we got a chance to see in person was Jones defensive lineman Raymond CorreaRaymondCorrea6'3" | DLJones | 2024StateOK. This was early in the 2020 season during a non-district game against Lincoln Christian. Correa certainly looked the part when it comes to his physical build. However, you can tell that it was still early in Correa’s freshman season as he was very raw and new to the varsity game. But based on his physical build alone, Correa has the potential to be a dominating force along the defensive line, especially on the interior. Red MartellRedMartell5'11" | RBBeggs | 2024StateOK - RB - Beggs - In addition to Owasso’s Dyson, Beggs running back Red MartellRedMartell5'11" | RBBeggs | 2024StateOK was one of the prospects in the 2024 class that was already on the radar before they stepped foot in high school. Martell had a great offseason in 2020, getting the attention of media by performing well at camps. Martell had an explosive start to his high school career on the field with a Beggs team that was certainly full of talent. Martell plays on both sides but we can’t help but like what we see when he’s at running back. Martell and 2022 RB CJ BrownCJBrown6'1" | RBBeggs | 2022StateOK make a great RB duo.
