Continue ReadingToday, we will be taking a look at some of the top Class of 2022 linebackers without an offer. There are multiple reasons why some of these players have been unable to get that coveted “first offer”. A lot of it is due to COVID-19 and those limitations put on college coaches due to being in a “Dead Period” for almost a year. Some of its due to the fact that some players go to schools that either doesn’t win a lot of games, don’t have a lot of college football recruits, or both. That’s where we come in to help put the spotlight on these types of players.
Here are five solid Class of 2022 linebackers in the state without an offer.
Brodie Faessen Ι 6-0 200 Ι Inside Linebacker Ι Muhlenberg HS
Hudl Profile: https://www.hudl.com/profile/11471811/Brodie-Faessen
In eight games, Faessen racked up 97 tackles (52 solo) and one sack. Despite playing for a team that went winless during the 2020 season, Faessen showed up on defense all season. The defense gave up a lot of points and yardage, so a lot of his tackles come beyond the line of scrimmage (no fault of his own). That he can even get the stats he has despite his team’s difficulties shows how dedicated he is to giving his all, no matter what the circumstances.
Tyler Cain

6'3" | 230 lbs | LB
Beaver Falls | 2022
State
PA
Ι 6-3 215 Ι Inside Linebacker Ι Beaver Falls HS
Hudl Profile: https://www.hudl.com/profile/11750235/Tyler-Cain
Cain made 66 total tackles include five tackles for a loss, collected one sack, and caught three interceptions during the 2020 season. His first three plays on his highlights, all interceptions, were impressive. It shows that Cain has the athletic ability to drop back and be effective in pass coverage. He’s not too shabby against the run either. He’s a solid finisher with length, agility, and a wide tackle range.
Gavin Morris Ι 5-9 195 Ι Inside Linebacker Ι Fleetwood HS
Hudl Profile: https://www.hudl.com/profile/10733378/Gavin-Morris
Morris made a health 98 total tackles (39 solo), 20 tackles for a loss, and forced two fumbles. It impressed me at how quick Morris got through the offensive line to make a tackle in the first few plays of his highlights. After seeing him run the football a few plays later, it all made sense. Morris may not be the biggest linebacker, but his quickness makes up for it. He’s a very sure tackler and has the speed to chase people down.
Tyler Yocum

6'1" | 225 lbs | LB
Exeter Township | 2022
State
PA
Ι 6-1 225 Ι Inside Linebacker Ι Exeter HS
Hudl Profile: https://www.hudl.com/athlete/9101407
Yocum was good for 74 total tackles and four sacks during the 2020 season. One thing is certain: Yocum brings the wood when he tackles his opponent. I am impressed by the way he takes on the blocker and then quickly sheds the blocker to make the tackle. He’ll be the perfect fit in a 4-3 defense at the next level. He’s strong, can go sideline-to-sideline, and has great instincts. He excels at both pass and run blitzes.
Nathaniel Holt/Outside Linebacker-Edge
6’6”, 240lbs, Unionville HS
Hudl Profile: https://www.hudl.com/profile/11124179/Nathaniel-Holt
At 6’6”, 240lbs, Holt’s size alone makes him intriguing. After watching his film, he’s certainly a hybrid LB/Edge defender. Whether he’s lined up as an edge or outside linebacker, Holt covers a ton of ground quickly. Holt is bigger and stronger than most linemen and running backs that try to block him. Once he sets the edge, it’s hard to get around him. Most likely, he’s going to play defensive end at the next level. In the meantime, he’ll continue to make life hard for opposing offenses.
