The majority of these athletes are uncommitted at the present moment, — but as we know signing day is upon us and things could change overnight. Wednesday is national signing day for the unsigned prospects who have been in steady contact with coaches and recruiting departments. If you are a Baton Rouge native, a football fan, a coach, or an athlete, share this article and help these athletes get the exposure they deserve. For college coaches reading this, today may be the lost chance to offer one of these tremendous athletes and fulfill a need or some “Juice” to your offense. Jonathan Swift |6-2 QB / Ath | Central HS
The first thing that impresses you when you watch Jonathan’s film, is his ability to throw a strike on the run. He doesn’t have to set his feet to throw a 20-30 yard dart at a receiver. His arm strength in the short to intermediate passing game is highly proficient. He will produce a lot of yards passing because of his quick decision making and quick release. Footwork needs improvement. Shows he can make throws down the middle of the field and towards the sideline. He also knows when to take a little velocity off the ball and lop a pass to a receiver to make it more catchable.
Zeon Chriss |6-2 QB | Madison Prep Academy
Zeon’s deep arm strength and accuracy is what stands out the most about this terrific athlete. That and his ability to make big plays, — either off his arm or with his legs. Shows dangerous speed and agility and is a true dual-threat QB, who can throw and run. He is apart of the QB hitlist team, a group of promising young QBs. Last season he threw for over 2000 yards passing and had a total of 40 touchdowns on the year. He also carries a 3.4 GPA and has a laser timed 40-yard dash of 4.4, — speed kills.
Congrats! @zeonchriss on being named 3A and lower Outstanding offensive player! You a star kid keep working! 🏆 pic.twitter.com/3HGqCjb1IO

Marlon Gunn Jr. |6-0 RB| Scotlandville Magnet HS
Last season Marlon had 754 yards rushing on 73 carries and 6 touchdowns to pair along with 8 receptions and 148 yards, plus 2 TDs. The first thing that you will see when you watch Marlon’s game film his is the ability to be a workhorse back, a tough downhill runner, that can run in between the tackles as well. He shows an elite ability to make people miss at the second level, and just when you think the play is going to be a loss, he will break out his lateral speed and agility and use it to take the football to the end-zone. His speed won’t outright amaze you but his toughness as a runner will. That being said, he can still flash his athleticism and catch out of the backfield.
Chance Williams “Deuce” | 5-10 RB | Scotlandville Magnet HS
Deuce is more of your speedy back or slot receiver. His speed is elite and he is a big-time playmaker with his legs. He will leave defenders in the dust and no one seems to be able to stay within 5 yards of him. He is known as the “swiss army knife” because of his ability to play on, offense, defense, and special teams. Shows he can be a prominent defender and make plays because of his pursuit of the ball and tackling. I like him best on offense, he can be used as a back that can catch out of the backfield, or gash holes on defense untouched by defenders and take the ball into the end-zone. He shared the backfield with Marlon Gunn Jr. to make for a fearful two-headed beast out of the Scotlandville backfield.

Marlon Thomas “Juice” |5-11 WR / DB | Scotlandville Magnet HS
They call him “Juice” because that’s what I believe he brings to the field, and his teammates respond to his level of play and energy. Although he isn’t the tallest of receivers, he sure plays bigger than he is due to an impressive wingspan. He is able to burst off the line of scrimmage and stop on a dime to make a catch, he is often used to run curl routes, and gets open 90% of the time, if not more. His route running ability is dangerous and he pairs it well with his long arms and vertical ability to leap over defenders and pluck the ball out of the air at the apex.
Herman Brister III | 6-3 DB/ WR | Southern Lab
Herman has impressive size for a DB, he plays both sides of the ball, but I think he contributes the best on defense. As he is an imposing will on the field and shows he can defend against the run or the pass. He can press the LOS, has the speed to stick with receivers, but most importantly — he has the awareness on the field to make big plays. He can track the ball and either knock it down, tip it or intercept it. Also shows the ability to make big hits. FCS/ FBS type of prospect with a high ceiling in college.
Austin Ausberry | 6-1 DB / WR | University Lab
Austin also has terrific size at the DB position, with the requisite skills that you’d like to see at that position. I like his vertical ability as well as his wingspan as well. He shows he can make time plays on the ball on defense and plays well against the pass. Which is one of the reasons he has multiple offers. This is another FBS / FCS type of prospect.
Other notables :
Roman Pitre |6-5 DB | University Lab
One heck of a player that we will cover more in-depth on a different article soon to come next week. However, off the back, if his size doesn’t impress you then surely his play will.
Amani Givens | 5-7 RB | Woodlawn HS
Quincey Wiggins | 6-7 DL | Madison Prep Academy
