These 11 ball players have a ton to offer the college level. In this article, I want to dive into the film of each player and breakdown exactly what traits these players have to offer. Also as a reminder, if you want to be included in the next round of Film Analysis make sure to send me your film in my twitter DMs at @MJ_NFLDraft or the Prep Redzone Wisconsin twitter DMs at @PrepRedzoneWI! Athletes from each class are encouraged to send in film. It’s not just for the soon to be seniors! Now let’s get into it!
Reid Jamerson, DL- Whitefish Bay
Reid is really fun to watch! He is extremely gifted athletically. He checks in at a very well put together 6’1″ 205 lbs. The very first set of traits that jump off the tape is his first step explosiveness and quickness. That ability to get out of his stance before any other lineman instantly gives him the upper hand. Then he uses his quickness and agility to quickly defeat any block attempt and get into the backfield. There are times where he is so quick that offensive linemen don’t even touch him. That quickness has allowed him to line up anywhere along the defensive line and have success getting penetration. Reid’s play speed gives him the ability to close quickly after he defeats the block and also effectively pursue ball carriers all over the field. Another big plus is that even while he doesn’t check in with elite height it does look like Jamerson actually has the necessary length to win at the DE/ OLB edge rush positions thanks to good arm length. That length paired with quick and strong hands makes him a very effective pass rusher; especially off the edge. This is a kid you want to know! Check him out!
Jack Baretz Jack Baretz 6'4" | 220 lbs | LB Franklin | 2022 State WI , LB- Franklin
I’m a big fan of Baretz. You will be hard pressed to find a better ILB prospect in Wisconsin. Jack checks in at an impressive 6’4″ 220 lbs. He handles that size with ease and has become a very effective LB in the three key areas of the position. He has the strength to be a stout run defender. Offensive linemen have a hard time getting on him and an even harder time holding the block. Jack also is able to smoothly pick through the traffic and find the ball and stop it for little to no gain. When he makes contact the play stops there thanks to his strong tackling. Baretz is also an effect blitzer from the middle of the defense. When he goes it is like he is shot out of a cannon. He rounds out his game with the ability to be an effective cover LB. Jack does a really good job of reading the QB while dropping into his zone and feeling receivers enter his zone. His reaction time allows him to be in position to make plays on the ball and disrupt the catch point. The play speed and range to make plays from sideline to sideline jumps off the tape too. The Franklin prospect checks off a ton of the boxes I look for. His versatility in the middle of the defense is going to be in high demand. Check this dude out!
Robby Michael Robby Michael 5'11" | 170 lbs | ATH Sheboygan Lutheran | 2022 State WI , ATH- Sheboygan Lutheran
Robby is a playmaker on the football field. He has the athletic traits and size at 5’11″ 170 lbs to make an impact in a lot of different ways at the next level. I can’t wait to see how teams at the next level plan to use him. Robby’s QB film shows off a clutch and accurate arm. He can slice up a defense on the short to intermediate range as well as hit on deep passes with precision and touch. Robby’s play in the pocket is impressive to watch. He does a great job of maneuvering around to avoid pressure. His next level athleticism really shines there and when he decides to tuck it and run watch out. When Michael does take off he is an elusive runner in the open field. He also has the speed to turn every carry into a big play. Robby is also a very talented DB prospect. He has the range to roam a deep half of the field and make plays on the ball or come flying downhill and make tackles against the run. His recognition skills allow him to always be in the right place at the right time. Then he has the ball skills to turn his opportunities at the ball into turnovers. I believe that him playing QB has helped him become an even better safety. Check him out on defense here! Check him out on offense here!
Westen Liebzeit, ATH- Reedsville
Westen is a versatile prospect that you are going to want to take a look at. The 5’10″ 165 lbs all conference RB, DB, and kicker has plenty to offer the next level. This is my first exposure to Westen and I like what I see. I’m a big fan of his hip fluidity. It shows up on offense and defense for him. As a DB it allows him to play tight man coverage throughout the route and on offense, as a ball carrier, it allowed him to change direction without losing any speed. Speaking of speed, Liebzeit has plenty of it. He is a home run hitter and really dangerous if he can get the ball out in space. His soft, natural hands further increases his value and versatility. On defense, Westen shows off an eye opening closing burst. Whether he is coming downhill to stop the run or to close on a route in front of him, he never looks faster than when he recognizes and reacts on a play. Have a look right here!
Josiah Nathaniel Josiah Nathaniel 5'11" | 260 lbs | OL Catholic Memorial | 2022 State WI , OL- Catholic Memorial
Our lone offensive lineman in this article is a special one. Josiah comes in at 5’11″ 260 and has some of the best body control and movement skills in the state at his position. I highly recommend watching the film and seeing for yourself. He is so light on his feet. In the run game, Josiah quickly gets his butt to the hole to wall off defenders. From their he has the strength to either drive defensive linemen off the ball or collapse them down the line and away from the play. Josiah also has the range to not only make key blocks at the second level, but also get out in space and make key blocks on DBs on screens or end arounds. In the pass game, that athleticism carries over as he easily slides and reacts to pass rush moves. He also has the anchor strength and low center of gravity to be able to stonewall bull rushers. I love the way Nathaniel finishes his blocks too. Every chance he gets he makes sure that the defender is getting up off the ground after the whistle blows. I’m a big fan of Josiah and a lot of programs at the next level should be too.
Aaron Grant, RB- Germantown
You better tighten your chin strap when you step up to make a tackle on this 5’8″ 245 lbs RB from Germantown. I first saw Aaron at the Prep Redzone Wisconsin Showcase last December and he proved to not only be a big body RB, but an RB that can get out in space and catch the ball and play with some agility. Then when you flip on the tape you see the traits you expect to see of an RB prospect with his size. Aaron is a north-south runner and his contact balance and very low center of gravity make it nearly impossible to bring him down because it takes most of the defense just to get him off balance. Grant is a pile mover and a short yardage beast. His power allows him to generate a lot of momentum and his legs don’t stop churning until he is finally wrestled down. On top of that, you add in his ability to lead block and open up big holes for other RBs and you get an RB/FB prospect that should definitely be able to find a role at the next level. Check out his junior film right here!
Connor Kelly, WR- Germantown
Connor looks to be putting himself into a position to breakout during his senior campaign. He checks in at 6’1″ 185 lbs. While he doesn’t have insane stats, 10 receptions for 175 yards, the film does show a player that isn’t afraid to do the selfless, dirty work on the outside. The #1 piece of dirty work that Connor has no trouble with is downfield blocking. His film is full of plays that show how sticky he is as a blocker. Whether it is at the line or down the field, once he gets his hands on the defender you can have confidence that that defender won’t be a concern the rest of the play. To go along with that extremely non- selfish play, Connor has soft hands, good play speed, and could develop into a consistent field stretcher. Connor could be a player that appears to come out of nowhere if he continues to develop this offseason. He has the tools to work with. Check him out!
Will Campbell, LB- Kaukauna
If you have been following the site since last fall you will know that I have been a big fan of Will’s. He currently stands at 6’1″ 225 lbs and his film shows off a ton of high quality traits for the LB position. He consistently locks down the middle of the defense against the run and pass. He also has the speed to make plays from sideline to sideline. Against the run, Will does a great job of mirroring the backfield and filling his gap. Will also does a great job of shedding blocks and slipping through the trash in the trenches to make plays at or behind the line of scrimmage. Against the pass, Campbell drops and slides naturally into his zone. He is able to see and feel receivers while keeping his eyes on the QB. When he does read hat his zone is being targeted, Will does a great job of reacting quickly and not only disrupting the catch point, but also creating turnovers. I really like how there isn’t much wasted movement in his play either. He is very decisive in his movements. He trusts what he reads and then he attacks at full speed. Check this dude out!
Bryce Taylor, DL- Menomonee Falls
I’m a big fan of Bryce after watching his junior film! The 6’0″ 250 lbs DL from Menomonee Falls has next level first step explosion and overall quickness. He launches out of his stance and plays at 100 mph from snap to whistle. His quickness in short areas makes it very hard for offensive linemen to get the angle on him. When you look at the impact on the field, Bryce is an impactful pass rusher. He can collapse the pocket with his strength and then he sheds blocks with strong hand use. He even has the athleticism to rush around the edge in situations. Against the run, Bryce has the strength to hold the line before shedding the block and making the tackle. His athleticism also carries over to his run defense as he constantly is chasing down RBs from behind in the backfield. I’m a huge fan of the motor that is demonstrated in his film. I think he is going to be a fast riser and will grab a lot of college coaches attention over this next year. Don’t miss out! Have a look!
Isaiah Folsom, RB- Racine Lutheran
This is my first time watching Folsom and I love what I am seeing. Isaiah checks in at a well put together 5’9″ 200 lbs. I love the instincts that is on display in his film. He always is able to find his way to daylight. Even when it doesn’t seem like there is any daylight to be found. His strong vision helps him out here. There are times in his film where it looks like it is a play for no gain, but then he will press the hole and bounce to the outside for a big play. He has a more compact build at that helps with his contact balance. Arm tackle attempts or shoulder tackles aren’t going to work on Folsom. If you don’t wrap him up he is going to bounce right off you and keep going. Isaiah has enough speed to create big plays as well when he gets to daylight. To summarize it all together, Isaiah is a playmaker. I recommend you check him out here!
Ty Strehlow, RB/WR- D.C. Everest
Ty is a fun prospect to watch. I think he could be used in a couple different ways based on the traits in his film. As an RB, the 6′ 190 lbs athlete is an all business, no nonsense type runner. He attacks north and south and does a good job of following his blocks and then using his burst to get through the gaps quickly. That aggressive mentality puts a lot of pressure on the defense. They either need to get to their gaps on time or Strehlow is going to turn it into a big play. Ty is also a reliable and effective receiver out of the backfield, and he is also a good looking receiver when he lines up out wide. That’s where the versatility comes in. I don’t think you can go wrong with him if he plays RB or WR at the next level. His route running creates a lot of separation in the film I watched. After the catch, Strehlow goes back to his RB ways and is an angry runner that gives DBs a lot of troubles when they try to tackle him. Basically, find a way to get him on the field on offense and then get him the ball. You won’t be disappointed with the outcome. Have a look at the versatile playmaker here!
