Jerry Arteaga Jerry Arteaga 6'2" | 175 lbs | ATH Garden City | 2023 State KS , 6’2, 170, Emporia
Jerry Arteaga Jerry Arteaga 6'2" | 175 lbs | ATH Garden City | 2023 State KS is the 2nd ranked WR and the 18th ranked player overall in the class of 2023. In 2020, he caught 7 passes for 315 yards (39.3 YPC) and scored 3 TD. He also ran the ball 9 times for 108 yards (12 YPA) and scored a TD. As the numbers show, he is an outstanding playmaker who is a threat to score a TD every time he gets the ball in his hands. He plays primarily in the slot. He is a very dangerous player on end arounds as well as on screens. Once he catches the ball, he uses his excellent play speed and athletic ability to outrun most if not all defenders for a large gain or a TD.

He had a great sophomore season as he caught 74 passes for 638 yards and scored a TD. He plays primarily in the slot. He is a good route runner who shows good hip fluidity as he breaks off his stem at a 90 degree angle on out routes, displays good hands as he can make the catch on passes that are thrown on target with ease and uses his quickness and agility to elude DB and LB after the catch.

Justin Stephens Justin Stephens 6'3" | 205 lbs | WR Maize | 2023 State KS is the 5th ranked WR and the 53rd ranked player in the class of 2023 overall. He lines up in tight as well as in the slot. He is a very good route runner as he displays good hip fluidity as he breaks off his stem at a 45 degree angle on slant and post routes, tracks the ball in the air and displays very good hands as he shows enough manual dexterity to make the catch on passes that are thrown both in and out of his strike zone. He also shows the ability to make the catch consistently in contested catch situations. He is an outstanding run blocker as he plays at a low pad level, keeps his feet constantly moving, shoots his hands quickly and wins battles with his hands inside against the OLB negating his progress at the point of attack.

He is a big play receiver who uses his good play speed to get behind the CB on go routes, shows good hands as he is able to make the catch on passes that are thrown on target with ease and uses his good athletic ability to accelerate for a big gain after the catch is made.
