Michael Wallin Michael Wallin 6'0" | 230 lbs | LS Tea Area | 2021 State has decided to take his talents the JUCO route, which is becoming a common trend from the 2021 class. We chatted with him about his commitment below to take his talents to an Iowa JUCO program.
Q: What impacted your decision to sign with Ellsworth?
Wallin: The biggest thing is it’s a place where I can grow as an athlete and as a student.
Q: Was there any other programs that were in the running, or when you got that Ellsworth offer, you knew it was the one?
Wallin: Just a few Divison III schools and Mesabi Range College. Ellsworth’s most significant thing is that the bond that the coaches and the players have an amazing relationship, which is what sold me on the program.
Q: What will be the most significant football adjustment you are going to need to make to adjust to the college game as a Long Snapper for Ellsworth?
Wallin: The most significant change will be my snap time because you’re playing with guys who run 4.3-4.6 40s, and that risks the punts and field goals getting blocked.
Q: How and what did you do this season to fuel your future football home?
Wallin: The biggest thing is at Tea, we won a championship, and I know what it takes to win, so I’m going to bring that attitude to Ellsworth.
Q: What’s the biggest thing you are looking forward to at the next level at Ellsworth?
Wallin: The biggest thing is meeting my life long friends. We have a group chat with all the incoming freshmen, and the bond is there to do be things with this group.
Q: What do you plan on majoring in at Ellsworth, or are you undecided at the moment?
Wallin: Athletic Training
