Grabbing the Spotlight Landon Semrad Wide Receiver Prairie Grove
The town of Prairie Grove has produced some solid college football players over the past few years. Look no further than Iowa State Cyclone Dylan Soehner as evidence to that fact. The next major receiving threat that the Tigers are producing is 6-4 wide receiver Landon Semrad Landon Semrad 6'4" | 195 lbs | WR Prairie Grove | 2022 State AR . We are going to look at the Tigers’ wide receiver in today’s Grabbing the Spotlight.
Landon is a wide receiver that is very unselfish. He is a willing blocker and does a great job of helping open up rushing lanes for his teammates. With Prairie Grove running the football as well as what they do it allows for Semrad to be used effectively in the passing game.
Semrad runs good routes and uses his athletic ability well. He does a good job creating separation from opposing defensive backs. In 2020, Landon racked up 533 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns. However, he is a dangerous player from all over the field. He racked up 843 yards all-purpose yards last season. The Prairie Grove coaching staff is extremely creative in how they get the ball to Semrad. Semrad is a remarkably effective threat in the red zone and has no problem going up and high pointing the football.
Semrad has goals for himself and the team already laid out for next season. Semrad is playing basketball during the offseason. However, he is still working on improving his vertical as well as continuing to work on improving his speed. Meanwhile, the team goals that Semrad has are impressive as well. The goal is to win a state championship for Prairie Grove and just to continue to improve from last season. Improving every week is a great team goal to have and one the Tigers have going into the 2021 football season.
Semrad is wanting to hit plenty of team camps and seven-on-seven tournaments this offseason. The camps will be able to put plenty of eyes on Semrad as he continues to work this offseason and improve. Ouachita Baptist and Western Kentucky have already reached out to Semrad. His recruiting has an excellent chance of blowing up this offseason and especially during the 2021 season. The young man has plenty of potential and you do not see too many wide receivers with his athletic ability in the red zone. Semrad up to this point has been under the radar, however he will not stay that way.
