The 6’8 340 pound massive Nashville lineman took to Twitter on Monday to announce his six finalists: Baylor, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Mississippi St and Tennessee.
Hood is a budding star that is still developing his game and his body but has the size, arm length and deceptive athleticism to become a dominating right tackle or guard on the Power Five level.
Those traits and his abilities along with his size is what has attracted so many high level football programs towards Hood but now he is focused on a final six and he has thoughts about each one …..
Baylor: “Their coaching staff has really built a strong bond with me over these past several months. They have shown me a lot of love and what their school can offer me as an athlete and a student. What they offer is very appealing.”
Georgia: “The state of Georgia has always been like a 2nd home for me. I have been to and visited the state of Georgia more than anywhere else, so I feel comfortable down there. I’m used to the environment down there. Georgia also has a great O-line coach and the Bulldogs have been known for great offensive linemen.”
Georgia Tech: “I have received a lot of love from the Tech staff for several months and I very much appreciate it. I have built a strong bond with Coach Key (Tech’s O-line coach). I really believe that Georgia Tech is a place I could succeed both as a player and as a student.”
LSU: “The Tigers are another school that I have built a strong bond with. I have been in contact with Coach Austin Thomas for a while now, ever since he was at Baylor but has now brought our relationship over to LSU with him. I have been able to talk with Coach Orgeron too, so I’m building a good relationship with him as well.”
Mississippi St.: “State has a great O-line coach. I really like the way he presents himself and coaches. I honestly believe the way State plays, it benefits my game a lot.”
Tennessee: “UT has always been one of my top schools. Tennessee was the first school to build a connection with me. They first started talking to me when I was a sophomore and the relationship has maintained since. The thought of being able to play college football in my home state is an amazing feeling. The bond with Tennessee I have is very strong.”
The next step in this process for Hood is to take visits to each of these six programs before coming up with a final decision.
Hood has already taken visits to several of his finalists (UGA, Ga Tech, UT) but wants to check out everybody before he knows where his future college home will be.
Whenever Hood decides to make his commitment, the school that gets him will have an unpolished gem on their hands that one day could be cleaned up into a pearl, a possible future NFL lineman.
