While it would be easy to blame the pandemic on what went wrong, Bettinger, the coaching staff and prospects on the team will make no excuses, only to tell you that this will be a process.
What this program will do in the off-season is get many of those younger players pointed in the right direction – and that means in and out of the classroom.
For many of these young men, getting some early exposure is always a positive, and that will happen for a team that will play on the positives instead of the negatives that can hold a program back from growing.
THE FUTURE CERTAINLY LOOKS BRIGHT IN JACKSONVILLE
While the Wolfpack will have rising seniors Kris Mason (DB/WR, 5-9, 145 – GPA 3.46) and athlete Zion Williams (6-4 210, GPA: 2.91) in the Class of 2022, the future is where many of the rising standouts will shine.
In the 2023 class, Daniel Davisson (RB/DB, 5-8, 160, GPA: 3.21), Jamari Jones (LB, 5-9, 165, GPA: 3.03), Sharod Murphy (KR/WR, 6-2, 145, GPA: 3.44), Aidan Nichols (WR/DB, 5-10, GPA: 2.78), Tyler Terry (RB/DB, 5-7, 155, GPA: 3.31), Alijah Robinson (OT, 6-2 230, GPA: 3.68) and Erik Sheets (LB, 5-10, 180, GPA: 3.73) are ready to take that next step – leadership!
The rising sophomore class (2024) will also benefit this program – in a major way. Among this talented group are Grant Authelet (OL/DL, 6-2 195, GPA: 2.75), Chris Charbonnet (LB, 6-1, 180, GPA: 4.79), Nicholas Damone (TE/LB, 6-0, 175, GPA: 3.75), Colin Maxwell (DB/WR, 5-8, 135, GPA: 3.83), Nickolas Schlax (WR/DB, 5-10, 125, GPA: 4.91), and Archieve Triggs (RB/LB, 6-1, 180, GPA: 3.13).
