The Hornets have consistently started to churn out playoff appearances. In this article we are going to examine some of the key players that will be senior leaders for the Hornets.
The class of 2022 offensive line class is one of the deepest of recent memory in Arkansas. Maumelle’s offensive line has several prospects that scouts are going to want to make some notes over. Andrew Chamblee Andrew Chamblee 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Maumelle | 2022 State AR and Caleb Stroud Caleb Stroud 6'7" | 325 lbs | OL Maumelle | 2022 State AR anchor the offensive line for the Hornets. Looking first at Chamblee. Chamblee is a quick offensive tackle that currently has 18 scholarship offers from numerous powerhouse programs. Chamblee can be overpowering and is always looking to get into the second level with his blocking.
Meanwhile, Chamblee’s offensive line counterpart Caleb Stroud Caleb Stroud 6'7" | 325 lbs | OL Maumelle | 2022 State AR is a dominant run blocker. Stroud plays with a mean streak and uses his power well to drive the opposing defensive lineman to the ground. His quickness out of the snap is a pleasant surprise and he uses the mix of run and power to create rushing lanes for his teammates. The Maumelle offensive line has the potential to be one of the best in the state of Arkansas this season.
As strong as the Hornets are on the offensive line, the Hornets are just as talented on the defensive line. Nico Davillier Nico Davillier 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Maumelle | 2022 State AR does not just play the defensive end position. He plays the tight end and quarterback position as well for the Hornets. However, Davillier can take over the game as an edge rusher. He uses his speed well to completely disrupt the opposing rushing attack. At 6-5 and 275 pounds, Davillier has the frame to add a few pounds to his frame. What is the impressive trait about Davillier is just how versatile he is as a player. Davillier has already earned 14 scholarship offers and has an excellent opportunity to pick up more this season.
With both lines being as talented as they are, Maumelle has the potential to have a special season in 2021. Everyone will need to avoid injury this season, but the Hornets are going to be a dangerous team this season. Davillier, Stroud, and Chamblee will all likely be signing division one offers on signing day. The one thing to be determined is how far this team can advance in the state playoffs.
