The prospects range from Power-Five to Division two type-level talents. However, the one thing they all have in common is that they can all flat-out ball.
DB: Fred Adams, 5’10, 165, Zephyrhills Christian, FL, 2024
A smart, instinctive center field type safety with exceptional ball skills. Adams diagnoses the run extremely well and has a quick trigger to make plays in space. He shows tight breaks that rarely ever leave the framework of his body. The production is there as well, totaling 6 interceptions as just a freshman.
DB: Timyone Andrew, 5’9, 175, Roger Bacon, OH, 2022
A fierce cornerback prospect that you can throw on an island and will thrive. Andrew shows quick feet in press, a good off-hand jam, and solid recovery speed. If he does get beat, he will run to the near hip and play through the wideout’s hands. He may be smaller from a vertical stature standpoint, but he’s a physical tackler who can fight off blocks and make 1 on 1 tackles.
OL: Cassius Hulbert Cassius Hulbert 6'3" | 300 lbs | OL Edon | 2022 OH , 6’3, 290, Edon, OH, 2022
A nasty run blocker who will put defenders on skates and drive them off the football. He shows excellent turnover on his knee drive & has a punch with some serious pop behind it. He’s quick out of his stance and shows no sort of issues against speed rushers. To me, he’s no doubt a guard at the next level and will thrive in a gap scheme as a puller.
WR: Darion Domineck, 6’4, 190, Fleming Island, FL, 2023
A long-striding WR that turns into a powerful runner after the catch. Darion has shown exceptional balance after contact and can easily run through arm tackles. In 50/50 situations, he will highpoint the football and has shown he’s extremely springy. He’s a double-move artist who can easily work all three levels of the field. He currently holds offers from Miami & Middle Tennessee State.
DB: Jamal Mayers, 5’10, 160, James Clemens, AL, 2023
To me, Mayers has to be one of the bigger sleepers in the 2023 class for now. He sees the field so well and has such great anticipation skills. He’s an absolute ballhawk that totaled 7 interceptions as a sophomore on his way to being named First Team All-State. As a tackler, he will run through his targets and speed his feet once he makes initial contact. Mayers plays fearless and is a pure playmaker at the safety position.
ATH: Dedric Walker Dedric Walker 6'3" | 185 lbs | DB Fleming Island | 2022 FL , 6’3, 185, Fleming Island, FL, 2022
A long tweener who will smack you in the mouth. Walker is somewhere between an outside linebacker and a safety. He hits like a linebacker but moves on tape like a defensive back. This kid was a forced fumble artist who stripped ball carriers left and right in 2020. He’s not afraid to jump in front of a target and take it the other way as well. If he puts on some weight this off-season, I think he could make a very intriguing outside linebacker prospect based on his tackling and coverage ability.
