DJ Samuels | Bergen Catholic
Bergen Catholic is one of the biggest powerhouses in the state and they keep replenishing with players like Samuels. He dominated the defensive line this season using his quick first step and pass rush moves. He logged 10 sacks by getting ahead of offensive lineman using size and strength. Samuels has great fundamentals to go along with the raw ability to get to the quarterback.
Chase Bisontis | Don Bosco
Bisontis is one of the tp prospects in New Jersey and the top offensive lineman in the Class of 2023. As a sophomore, he showed ability beyond his years. He controls the offensive line with active hands and quick feet. Bisontis shows tactics and technique that gave him an upperhand at the snap.
Logan Barnes | St. Peter’s Prep
Barnes was apart of a strong defensive front for St. Peter’s Prep. Along with George Rooks, Barnes made things difficult for opposing offenses because of his way of blowing up the game plan. Barnes possesses a quickness that is sneaky and gives him an advantage. His pass rushing ability will continue to grow to match his run-stopping ability.
Sydir Mitchell | Bergen Catholic
Mitchell is another part of the defensive front for Bergen Catholic. He is not polished yet and still finds a way to wreck games. Mitchell has the size to dominate and the IQ to continue to grow. His game is advanced and is treated like a chess match on the field. Mitchell has all the makings of a future star.
Matt Gemma | Delbarton
Gemma is another non-public defender who was able to take the next step in 2020. Amid the crazy season,Gemma was able to fine tune his game. He was a ball hawk along the defensive line and was a strong tackler when he made contact. Gemma showed great speed when chasing down ball carriers and this helped in the open field.
