Deonte Hayes Deonte Hayes 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Spanaway | 2021 State WA , 6’0″ 175lbs, Spanaway HS
Hayes is a lock down CB with solid athleticism all across the board. He’s physical at the LOS without lunging, often preventing WR’s to get a clean release. He can open the gate and turn and burn with receivers and does a good job staying on their hip. He shows solid recovery speed with nice ball skills, as he’s flashed the ability to make athletic INT’s. He shows a nice break on the ball in zone coverage while utilizing a nice punch through the ball to force PBU’s. In run support, he sheds blocks well and is a highly effective fundamental tackler. He holds a notable offer from Florida Atlantic.
Marquel Thomas, 5’10” 170lbs, Puyallup HS
Thomas is a balanced safety that can make plays in coverage or run support. He’s a rangey FS that plays the center field position very well in the secondary for Puyallup. He does a good job high pointing INT’s on contested throws, and is a threat for a big return or a house call after the INT. He shows a solid initial reaction and can make plays sideline to sideline. Not a big striker, but possesses good closing speed and is low at the point of contact to bring down ball carriers, and is an effective one on one tackler.
Daniel McKeirnan, 6’1″ 180lbs, Gonzaga Prep
McKeirnan is listed as a DB, yet played a ton of LB for Gonzaga Prep his junior season. His skillset fits best as a SS for the next level, and he is a fly around player that racked up 133 tackles his junior year. He closes very well as a tackler and is strong at the POA. Big striking ability once he gets his shoulders squared and fills opening alleys well. He seems to have a good understanding of zone responsibilities, and displays solid reaction all around. He holds notable offers from Carrol College, Linfield University, Pacific University, Puget Sound, Whitworth, Pacific Lutheran, and Valparaiso.
Stuart DeMerit, 6’0″ 185lbs, Mount Si HS
Demerit was an absolute ball hawk at CB his junior season by racking up 7 INT’s in just 6 games played. Mount Si ran a lot of zone and off man coverage, and Demerit displayed good route recognition. He could add physicality to his game, but overall was a blanket over WR’s. He showed a nice leaping ability to pluck contested throws for INT’s against lengthy receivers. He also flashed the ability to punch through the hands of WR’s to force PBU’s. Smart football player overall with the potential to develop.
Jaylan King Jaylan King 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Rogers | 2021 State WA , 6’0″ 170lbs, Puyallup HS
King transferred in from Rogers HS, and didn’t accumulate much game film as a DB, but has recently impressed on 7on7 events. He shows good physicality at the LOS as a pressed CB, frequently re-routing receivers and taking them out of the play. He can open the gate and run with WR’s as he has solid speed all around. Good twitch and change of direction based on his 7on7 eval, and does a good job reading the QB’s eyes when in zone coverage. Solid all-around athleticism and should be a player to take note of.
