Continue ReadingThis is a rough list that I have put together of quarterbacks that are in an order that I have deliberately put them into. I listed each quarterback on my list in an order I thought they landed in relative to their recruitment and play on the field. Now, this is in no way a complete list of the top or “best of the best” quarterbacks in the state, although some on this list are arguably so some of the best in their respective class of 2023. We are updating our player rankings and here are a few QBs that could be ranked by us and become visible to college coaches all around the country that are reading this very same article that you the fans are reading. So coaches, fans, athletes without further ado, here are some of the top QB prospects that made my list. If you have any suggestions or feedback on who should be the top QBs we would love to hear your feedback and will hold a vote on our Twitter page @PrepredzoneTX this Friday. If you have any suggestions please send them to our Twitter page or you may message the author of this post also at @LoboRecruits.
JT Fayard | 6-3 QB | Foster HS
JT is a leader on the field and leads by example. This is a quarterback that can elevate the play of the entire team and make everyone around him better. He has a tall, athletic build and looks like a college QB already. JT works with one of the best QB gurus in the nation and it shows on the field. Facing pressure he can deliver a strike and make it look routine. He also shows great arm strength and touch on throws as he effortlessly can throw the ball deep down the middle of the field or towards the sideline. JT is the pro-typical QB colleges dream of having on their roster. No wonder he has interest from Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M already. You wouldn’t know it by talking to him. JT is very humble, motivated, and determined. I cant wait to see what the future holds for this QB, skies the limit.
Best in the business @train3DQB @DamianDevon. Thanks for all your help with @JtFayard as it has helped tremendously. 💪🏻🙏🏻🏈🎯 https://t.co/dOA7YtdLhX

Brennan Storer Brennan Storer 5'11" | 175 lbs | QB Highland Park | 2023 State TX | 5-11 QB | Highland Park
Illinois State, Kansas, Kent State, South Carolina, and Texas State have all shown interest in Brennan. An Under Armour Next all American in 2019 and FBU Adidas Freshman All – American. , Has also been listed on the Lemming Report Top Prospects and also Dave Campbell Texas Football Top Sophomore list. His Hudl account easily has over 50,000 views of coaches evaluating this young prospect. This is an elite quarterback who will be highly ranked on our list of QBs.
Nathan Greek Nathan Greek 6'4" | 265 lbs | QB Ferris | 2023 State TX | 6-4 QB | Liberty Christian HS
Nathan is a gunslinger. He has good size and an athletic build, at 6-4 and somewhere around 240 pounds, he has the requisite size you’d like to see at the QB position. Arm strength is adequate, he is more proficient in the short to the intermediate passing game. Throwing quick slants and or screen passes. Mechanics and footwork are good but could use improvement. He shows a good pump fake and is also able to run with the ball because of his size and athleticism.
Nathan has offers from Nevada, Southern Miss, and Virginia Tech.
Cedric Harden Jr. | 6-2 QB | Cedar Hill HS
Cedric will be the NO. 1 quarterback for Cedar Hill and he isn’t shy of the spotlight. This QB has impressed many since his freshmen year and I’m sure this coming up season he will not disappoint. He has a string, laser-accurate arm and can put some mustard on all of his throws. He undoubtedly can throw the ball deep and fit the ball into some tight windows. Illinois State and Kansas have already offered. Coaches don’t be last to the party.

Jake Strong Jake Strong 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Northwest | 2023 State TX | 6-1 QB | Northwest HS
Jake threw for 2,319 yards, completed 62 percent of his passes, and completed 29 touchdowns. He did that by his pinpoint accuracy and his deep ball ability to hit receivers in stride down the field. He cab fit the ball into many tight windows and oh yeah, and he can run too. His long legs and strides give him the ability to gain speed fast and leave defenders in the dust. His footwork and drop back are so beautiful, it’s probably what lights up most coaches ’ eyes. He seems so light on his feet, and drops back so elegantly, he likes like Mohammad Ali in the ring. The film doesn’t lie, check it out.
Illinois State has offered, Baylor and Texas A&M have all shown interest.
Bo Edmundson | 6-3 QB | Lake Travis HS
Playing for a powerhouse like Lake Travis, with its well-known history of producing some of the state’s top talent. Bo is no exception. Through COVID last year, Bo played in five games but still put up some impressive numbers through the air. 1,409 yards passing, boasted a 68 completion percentage and 17 touchdowns on the year ( in only 5 games). Very impressive, to say the least. He puts the ball on a rope and can fire it to an open receiver. There is no doubt he has one of the highest velocity of throws of all the QBs on the list. If the receiver doesn’t catch the ball it will catch them, he puts it on the money every time.
Holds offers to Oklahoma State, SMU, and UTSA.
Jackson Gilkey | 6-2 QB | Ennis HS
This QB pairs his athleticism well with his throwing arm. He is an extremely defender to corral both in the pocket and the open field. Requisite arm strength that he shows he can be a consistent producer. Dangerous on the run and makes plays on designed carries and improvising is impressive.
Austin Novosad | 6-3 QB | Dripping Springs HS
Austin is a top QB, a name that you will hear a lot of out of Dripping Springs. He completed 162 of 268 of his passes and threw for over 2,800 yards last season. Yeah, this guy can play. He’s got a cannon of an arm, he’s got nice footwork, and works the pocket well. He can hitch up in the pocket and avoid defenders facing pressure and deliver a bomb downfield. He shows he can make all the throws down the middle of the field and hit receivers in stride.
Best QB coach!!! https://t.co/9W7wCtvJoK

Chase Jenkins Chase Jenkins 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Alief Taylor | 2023 State TX | 5-11 QB | Bellaire Episcopal HS
Dual-threat QB that has big-time playmaking ability and is arguably one of the best athletes on the field. He has elite speed and agility. Also throws well on the run and is proficient on rollouts to either side and can deliver strikes. I’d like to see him look to pass first, more often than not when he felt pressure he tucked and ran with the ball. However, with his speed and agility, he is a dual-threat for a reason and can make defenses play on the ground or the air. I look forward to seeing this QB mature next year and seeing what kind of nose he can generate for himself and his recruiting. Jackson State is his only offer to date.
Koby Truehill | 6-4 QB | Patricia HS
Koby’s sophomore season he threw for over 1300 yards passing and accumulated 15 touchdowns on the year. Left-handed QB with a rocket of an arm, that can throw on the run very well. He is used to a pro-style of offense and can mix up the offense quite well with his dangerous legs and arm. I was saying wow a lot at just how easily he can deliver a catchable ball. He knows when to take a bit off and lop passes down the field. He doesn’t rifle the ball in on every throw. He shows he can make the decision what is the best way to deliver the ball to an open receiver with his arm and timing.

Brady Dever | 6-1 QB | Foster HS
The corner of the end zone is a very familiar place for this QB and he shows he can rain down touchdowns with perfect timing on his throws. He is proficient in the short to the intermitted passing game and can produce points. Brady will definitely be a name to remember and keep an eye out for this coming up season.
PJ Hatter | 6-2 QB | Klein Oak
Dual-threat QB with some great speed and ability to make defenders miss in the open field. He can wear defenses down with his legs and then make them pay and throw over the top.
Gotta keep your head high and beat the odds 🏋🏾♂️ pic.twitter.com/7qY9cE0ScJ

Wyndell Mitchell Jr | 5-10 QB | North Shore Senior HS
Definitely, a name you will know from powerhouse North Shore. This QB can add many different ways he can beat an opposing defense and he is battle-tested in one of the toughest divisions of football in all of the nation ( 6A Division I ). He’s got a nice drop-back and can deliver a strike-down field. He is a little undersized at the QB position but doesn’t let that fool you, this is a high-caliber athlete.
Other notables :
Duke Butler | 6-1 QB | Shadow Creek HS
