Marquez Dortch Marquez Dortch 6'0" | 160 lbs | ATH George County | 2022 State MS | George County
The recruiting quest for Dortch is already in full swing, with several SEC schools already taking notice and providing offers. The rising senior posses potential on either side of the ball with an athletic frame and skillset to match. On the offensive side Dortch shows supreme explosiveness off the line of scrimmage with an easy glide of a stride that makes him difficult to defend. Dortch reacts well to the football as a defensive back and takes advantage in man coverage due to his length mixed with his speed. The hands of the George County native are above average and are good enough to find a home on the offensive end. It will be interesting to watch as he matures which side of the ball he calls home. Due to his elite play making ability it will be tough to keep the football out of his hands at the next level as a slot receiver. Dortch has the ability to be an immediate fit in a Power 5 offense.
Jerry Johnson Jerry Johnson 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Pearl | 2022 State MS | Pearl
Johnson possesses a name that is already well known by the Division 1 schools in Mississippi as he holds offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss. At only 5″11 height is a bit of a concern, but it is made up for with the speed and athleticism he plays with. Johnson gets the football offensively in a multitude of ways while playing north/south well. Moving forward the offensive side of the ball seems like the best fit, specifically an RPO or even an Air Raid scheme. Johnson holds supreme special teams value as well and reminds me a lot of Mississippi State alum Jameon Lewis.
Dakota Jordan Dakota Jordan 5'11" | 185 lbs | ATH Canton Academy | 2022 State MS | Canton Academy
A star on both the football and baseball field, Jordan is another coveted recruit in the class of 2022. Jordan produces on both sides of the field with a well put together physique as a RB/slot receiver on offense and as a DB on defense. Offensively Jordan has game wrecking ability with the ball in his hands but doesn’t seem as natural as he does defensively. In coverage he has a natural knack for the football and does a great job of positioning himself to defend the pass or step up in run game help. Questions surround Jordan as to what he is position wise moving forward as he is probably being recruited for different needs by different schools.
Chris Bell Chris Bell 6'2" | 210 lbs | ATH Yazoo City | 2022 State MS | Yazoo City
Bell may have the most clear position of anyone on this list, as he looks destined to be a boundary wide receiver at the next level. The length present with Bell’s 6″2 frame matched with his straight line speed have the potential to make him a one on one jump ball nightmare moving forward. There is some obvious rawness in his overall game, but the frame and athletic ability are traits that can’t be coached. Bell, who picked up an offer from Southern Miss last week, should see his recruitment heat up as his senior year nears and he continues to mature.
Telvin Amos Telvin Amos 5'11" | 170 lbs | ATH Lake Cormorant | 2022 State MS | Lake Cormorant
Athletic ability oozes off the tape of Amos, who scored 16 TD’s as a dual threat QB in Region 1-5A as a JR. Smooth, natural athleticism is present in Amos, who projects as a slot receiver or RPO QB at the next level. A strong football IQ is obvious, with next level toughness especially for an athlete more on the lean side. Amos is elusive, changes directions naturally and has special teams value moving forward. Expect to see Group of 5 level offers appear for Amos due to the athleticism present.
