Here are a few players who are seeing their stock rise on the recruiting trail…
Dee Crayton Dee Crayton 6'2" | 210 lbs | LB Denmark | 2023 State GA – Denmark
One breakout defender to know in North Georgia is hybrid linebacker/safety, Dee Crayton Dee Crayton 6'2" | 210 lbs | LB Denmark | 2023 State GA . The Forsyth County native was a middle school superstar before making a big impact on the Danes defense as a sophomore last year. He’s got good size already at 6-foot-2 210-pounds and knows how to lay a hit on the ball carrier. He has great ball skills and a true nose for the football on defense. As a sophomore last year, Crayton recorded 62 tackles, 8 TFLs, and five sacks. He knows how to get after the passes and is an excellent defender against the run. Crayton earned an early offer from Syracuse and earned a big offer this week from FSU. Look for more offers to come Crayton’s way sooner than later. He’s a fast-rising defender in the 2023 class and will help lead the Danes defense as a junior this fall.
Caleb Wooden Caleb Wooden 6'2" | 195 lbs | DB Archer | 2022 State GA – Archer
Another “Wooden” is making a name for himself at Archer High School, and it’s 2022 defensive back, Caleb Wooden Caleb Wooden 6'2" | 195 lbs | DB Archer | 2022 State GA . The 6-foot-2 185-pounder is a long, athletic safety whose older brother is a defensive lineman at Auburn. Wooden has earned a few nice offers recently with two coming this week from Georgia Southern and Appalachian State. As a junior last season, Wooden lined up against some of the top teams in the state and had to cover an impressive receiver every week throughout the season. Wooden held his own through a brutal Archer schedule and is now seeing more attention from colleges come his way. Look for Wooden to push for All-Region honors as a senior.
Connor Lew Connor Lew 6'4" | 260 lbs | OL Kennesaw Mountain | 2023 State GA – Kennesaw Mountain
If there’s an under the radar offensive line prospect to know in Cobb County, it’s the big pass protector from Kennesaw Mountain. The 2022 lineman is coming off a great junior season where he didn’t give up a single sack. He’s a versatile lineman with a lean frame at 6-foot-5 275-pounds who will continue to add weight and muscle. He’s long, moves well, and has the quickness and footwork to be able to play tackle. He’s also strong in the middle and knows how to open up holes between the tackles. He finishes blocks well and will only see more attention coming his way. Lew picked up a big offer from Virginia Tech this week and could see more coming his way over the next few weeks.
Malachi Madison Malachi Madison 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Cedar Grove | 2022 State GA – Cedar Grove
The Cedar Grove Saints may have had the best defensive line in the entire state last year and it’s showing on the recruiting trail. Everyone knows about four-star defensive tackle Christen Miller Christen Miller 6'6" | 285 lbs | DL Cedar Grove | 2022 State GA and four-star defensive end Joshua White Joshua White 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Cedar Grove | 2022 State GA , but Madison is another Saint lineman to know. The 6-foot-3 275-pounder is a run-stuffer in the middle who eats up space and can blow up the middle of the line of scrimmage. He’s quick off the ball, strong at the point of attack, and does a nice job of using his hands and leverage to get off blocks. He’s tough to handle to tight ends on the edge and can get after the passer as a defensive end as well. Madison has had a big week on the recruiting trail, earning offers from Southern Miss, UCF, Virginia Tech, and Middle Tennessee State.
