The class of 2022 is no exception and is full of extremely talented quarterbacks. Some at the top have already verbally committed to Power 5 colleges. This class is so loaded with talent that it was difficult to cut the list to 15 and very talented quarterbacks who will certainly play at the college level were left off.
Below is a list of five of the top 15 quarterbacks in Southern California’s class of 2022. Part one of the series was published yesterday.
10. Logan Gonzalez Logan Gonzalez 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Orange Lutheran | 2022 State CA , Orange Lutheran, Orange
Gonzalez has a big arm and good pocket presence. He is not afraid to throw the deep fade or post to the far side of the field. In Orange Lutheran’s game against San Juan Hills, Gonzalez threw a beautiful pass on a corner route to the far side of the field for a touchdown that was crucial in the outcome of the game. His release is unconventional but the ball gets to the target quickly and he makes quick decisions. Gonzalez will compete with Carson Conklin Carson Conklin 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Centennial - Corona | 2023 State CA for the starting position at Orange Lutheran or they may split playing time. He holds an offer from Nevada and has been training with former Florida State standout Chris Rix.
9. Travis Throckmorton Travis Throckmorton 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Simi Valley | 2022 State CA , Simi Valley, Simi Valley
Throckmorton’s name became known in the sports media world when he was the quarterback of Westlake’s dominant freshman team in 2018. He transferred to Simi Valley and led the Pioneers to a CIF championship appearance, completing 65 percent of his passes for 2015 yards and 17 touchdowns. He is 6-foot-3 and has a high and smooth release and can throw in tight spaces. His two top receivers are returning and he should have a big junior year throwing the ball. Throckmorton has offers from Florida Atlantic, Nevada and Southern Mississippi.

8. Tyler Voss Tyler Voss 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Valencia | 2022 State CA , Valencia, Valencia
Voss transferred to Valencia from Oaks Christian where he will have potential star receiver Zamondre Merriweather. He does not have a lot of game film but performed well at the Elite 11 SoCal Regional in November. He throws as good of a ball as anyone in the class and hits receivers in stride. He has a quick release and he makes deep throws look effortless. Voss has all the tools and once scouts see him in actual high-level football games he will pile up offers. Florida Atlantic has offered him and Yale has been in contact with him.
7. Beau Green Beau Green 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Madera | 2022 State CA , Mater Dei, Santa Ana
When Green transferred to Mater Dei from Turlock it raised eyebrows because he already has an offer from Auburn. He had a good freshman season Downey High (Modesto) when he threw for 1,021 yards and 11 touchdowns in five games. He had a torn labrum and missed his entire sophomore season which is why he hasn’t been a hot name in the recruiting circles recently. He has been working with prominent quarterbacks coach Danny Hernandez and was offered by Yale recently.

6. Katin Houser Katin Houser 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB St. John Bosco | 2022 State CA , St. John Bosco, Bellflower
Houser has big shoes to fill at Bosco and when you’re the quarterback of one of the top teams in the nation, there is an added pressure. He eased the minds of doubters when he was a top performer at the Elite 11 SoCal Regional. Since then, he has added offers from Oregon State, Arizona, Yale and Washington. He previously attended Liberty High in Henderson, Nevada. On film, he reminds me of Ryan Tannehill with his ability to remain tall in the pocket, throwing motion and athleticism, despite being a pro-style quarterback. Houser has 10 offers and while early predictions have him going to Oregon State, he will garner many more offers after his junior season.
