Continue ReadingOver the course of the last two months, we’ve broken down every player who made the cut for our Class of 2022 rankings. From the Upstate to the Lowcountry, the Pee Dee to the CSRA, the Charlotte suburbs south to the Midlands, we scouted every inch of South Carolina for what we believed to be the best players the Palmetto State has to offer.
And we still missed a few.
The following are a bunch of quarterbacks we’re watching closely in the coming months as we inch closer to spring ball and the 2021 season.
ANDRE WASHINGTON
Position: Quarterback
School: Ridge View
Player Breakdown: Washington will be one of the more battle-tested quarterbacks in the state entering his senior year. He’s been taking varsity snaps since he was a freshman, took over the job as a sophomore and put up nearly 1,300 yards of offense and 16 touchdowns as a junior.
Trent Pearman
Position: Quarterback
School: Daniel
Player Breakdown: Pearman’s first year as a varsity starter led to some comical numbers. In leading Daniel to the Class 3A state championship, the quarterback threw for 2,786 yards and 35 touchdowns while getting picked off just twice.
DREW SETTLE
Position: Quarterback
School: Chapman
Player Breakdown: Settle has the advantage of one of the best receiving groups in the state to throw to, but he makes it count. The 6-foot-4 quarterback put up 1,651 yards and 18 touchdowns last season while completing better than 62 percent of his passes.
