We are going to look at some of the prospects that performed well at camps this weekend. From 2022 class members to 2024 it was a good weekend for the prospects attending the camps and the tournaments.
Cooper Wilcox Cooper Wilcox 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Greenbrier | 2022 State AR -Quarterback-Greenbrier-2022
Wilcox attended the Elite-11 competition in Houston over the weekend and had a strong showing. He tested out at the 87th percentile of all the Opening athletes that were tested. It should come as no surprise that Wilcox would perform well and have an opportunity to still go to the Elite-11 finals. He has a strong arm to go along with some impressive accuracy. Wilcox can fit throws into windows that are small. He also is not afraid to use his legs to extend the play and will run when it is needed to pick up first downs and extend the drive.
Bladen Fike Bladen Fike 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR -Quarterback-Fayetteville-2022
Fike was making difficult throws look easy over the weekend. He attended the National Football Team Combine in Frisco over the weekend, and he continued to impress. Fike has a strong arm, and he has the talent in which he can fit the ball into some tight windows. One trait that scouts will like is the way that Fike moves around in the pocket. The young man does a terrific job in buying a little more time to make an accurate throw down the field. Fike is going to be one to keep an eye out for during seven-on-seven play and during the season. He is accurate and has the arm strength to really create problems in the 7-A West.
Keith Wells-Linebacker-Monticello-2022
Wells is a versatile player out of Monticello that plays all over the defensive side of the ball, but he also sees some time at the tight end position. Wells has terrific speed, and he causes problems for the opposing offensive line whether he is playing the edge position or at linebacker. He has incredibly good hands and he is always around the football. Wells is looking to either strip the football from the ball carrier or cause an interception. Monticello is a talented team and Wells will give them an incredibly versatile piece, which the seven-on-seven circuit has found out over the past couple of weeks.
Jaishon Davis Jaishon Davis 6'2" | 200 lbs | ATH Arkadelphia | 2022 State AR -Running Back/Linebacker-Arkadelphia-2022
Davis has terrific speed, and he can play both the running back and the linebacker position. The seven-on-seven circuit has found that out over the past few weeks. On the offensive side of the ball, Davis is a threat to score from anywhere on the field. He has a second gear in which he can leave the opposing defense trailing behind him. The receiving ability Davis has is an impressive facet of his game. He is able to create separation with his route running and impressive speed. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball he is a nightmare to an opposing offensive because of his quickness. Davis is always around the football and he will force turnovers and take it back for a defensive touchdown as well. Davis is a player to keep an eye on, he is going to be a key part of what Arkadelphia does on both sides of the ball.
Pierce Smalley Pierce Smalley 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Hot Springs | 2022 State AR -Athlete-Hot Springs-2022
Smalley is the ultimate Swiss Army Knife. He can be used on both sides of the ball and used effectively. Which we have seen over the past two weeks on the seven-on-seven circuit. Smalley continued to make great plays on the football over the weekend. He has the ability to harass wide receivers and does a terrific job of forcing mistakes from the wide receiver. Smalley is a playmaker on the defensive side of the ball, and it should come as no surprise to see him pick off a pass and return it for a touchdown. The seven-on-seven circuit is finding out what the folks in Hot Springs already know and that is Smalley is a weapon on both sides of the ball.
