Below, we will break down some of the top performers from the opening weekend of high school football across the Bay Area.
RB Dylan Smith Dylan Smith 6'6" | 280 lbs | OL Carlsbad | 2021 State CA -Vintage HS
One of the top backs in the North Bay, Smith is undersized but runs with great power and toughness. Rushing for well over 100 yards Friday night in a lopsided win against Casa Grande, Smith solidified his place as one of the regions top returning rushers.
RB Devon Rivers-Heritage HS
One of the most impressive ’23 backs in the entire region, Rivers exploded for 267 yards and 4 touchdowns in Saturday night’s game against Granada. He is going to have a huge Spring season for Heritage and should start seeing college interest come his way.
WR Jadyn Marshall Jadyn Marshall 6'0" | 185 lbs | WR St. Mary's - Stockton | 2022 State CA -St. Marys HS
Already a National Recruit, Marshall and his Rams squad did not back down from the powerful De la Salle just narrowly missing giving them their first Northern California loss in over 30 years. Ending the game with 119 receiving yards and 1 TD, he picked up right where he left off last season.
QB Brady Huchingson-Acalanes HS
The talented pocket passer went 18-24 for 261 yards and 4 TD’s in their gritty win over Monte Vista. Continuously throwing his receivers open and tossing the ball to 6 different pass catchers through out the night, Huchingson started off his Senior year strong and will continue to be a steady and dominant gun slinger this Spring season.
QB Jack Quigley-San Ramon Valley HS
Coming off a great Sophomore season, the third year signal caller helped lead SRV to a win over Las Lomas 35-28. Quigley erupted for 300+ passing yards and 2 touchdowns while adding more on the ground and managing the game well from the pocket while pushing the ball downfield. He will continue to be one of the top quarterbacks in Northern California this Spring season.
QB Tyler Tremain-Folsom HS
Starting his first Varsity game for the Bulldogs, Tremain did not disappoint. Throwing for 3 touchdowns and guiding a young Folsom team past the physical and athletic Oak Ridge squad. He will continue to be one to watch in the ’22 class of quarterbacks across the region and has next level abilities.
RB Gavin Cribb-Monte Vista HS
One of the top under-recruited rushers in Norcal, Cribb had a big night for the Mustangs in their narrow loss to a strong Acalanes team. Cribb went for 239 yards on the ground and carried the rock an impressive 29 times while tacking on 36 yards off 4 receptions and adding another TD pass. A compact and hard nosed runner, he is the next Cribb in line to make a big impact on the Monte Vista program as both his older brothers played college football at Linfield College and currently at Cal.
RB Jermaine Land-Las Lomas HS
Land had over 190 All-Purpose yards, 1 rush TD, 1 rec. TD and 1 KR TD for his new team as he transferred from near by Liberty High School for this school year. He will continue to be a steady and explosive presence for the talented Las Lomas team this Spring season and should quickly see college interest come his direction as he enters into his Senior year.
DB Tanner Colvin-Inderkum HS
Making huge strides since last season, Colvin has a big time 102-yard pick six against Clayton Valley in a close loss to the Bay Area power. Also adding a strong presence in the back end the entire night, he is poised for a huge Junior season for the Tigers.
