East Wake entered the game as the underdog in this conference match-up. East Wake players displayed a lot of heart and grit throughout the game. Clayton HS was dominant on offense and defense throughout the game.
Clayton’s QB, Cade Sakowski did a good job throwing short passes and handing the ball off to the running backs on each offensive series. He ran the ball when other offensive options were not available, often gaining big yardage. He displayed toughness after some physical hits against him during some of his runs. Clayton offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage the entire game. The offense provided a good balance of running and passing plays against East Wake’s Defense.
East Wake’s WR, Reginald Vick sparked the offense on multiple plays making athletic catches in traffic. Reginald Vick played with a lot of intensity. East Wake’s offense was able to move the ball on a few drives, scoring a touchdown on one of the drives. East Wake QB was under constant defensive pressure for the majority of the game. The running backs were able to gain some yardage on a few of the drives.
