These two powerhouse teams were trading blows all day, but the Comets walked away with the last word. There were a lot of talented players on both teams that put on a show on both sides of the ball. Here are some players to acknowledge.
RB Jamarion Price Jamarion Price 5'5" | 180 lbs | RB Hazelwood Central | 2022 MO . Price ran like a mad man. He was able to move the ball down field with ease, running hard and maneuvering through traffic. Price ran for 64 yards and scored two touchdowns.
RB Lionel Banks. Along with Price, Banks’s run game was out of this world. He had perfect balance, and was able to bulldoze his way down the field to gain more yardage. Banks picked up 82 yards and averaged 5 yards per carry. He also saw the end zone twice.
DB Chris Robinson. Robinson controlled the skies against the Hawks’ offense. He is fast and has great instincts when it comes to reading the offense. Robinson had a fumble recovery and an interception against Central.
WR Marquis Hawkins. Hawkins had a field day in the air against Central. He was a deep threat throughout the game, catching four passes for 123 yards. Hawkins put the nail in the coffin with a 43 yard reception that placed the Comets in the league in the fourth quarter. He had three touchdowns for the day.
DE Antoine Hines. Hines was a huge asset for the Hawks’ defense. Him and a few others were causing a
lot of disruption in the backfield. Hines also had a fumble recovery that he took all the way to the house. He also had four tackles for the game and a sack.
DB DeMariun Hood. Hood led the Hawks in tackles with 10 total. He was all over the field, making plays and laying big hits. Hood also had two sacks for the day.
QB Micheal Hopkins. Hopkins’s arm came in clutch during the game. He was throwing the ball down field to Dennis Keys and Hawkins, placing the Comets in perfect positions to score. Hopkins threw for 332 yards and four touchdowns.
WR Dennis Keys. Keys was another one of Hopkins’s targets. He stepped up big time during the game, making big plays when needed. Keys caught eight passes for 133 yards and a 78 yard touchdown run.
