We are going to examine a few of the players that attended the Dallas Pylon 7v7 camp and performed impressively. The work done in Dallas gives the players the opportunity to impress scouts and continue to get their names out there a bit more. College scouts will certainly know who these six players are before the 2021 season kicks off in August.
Manny Smith Manny Smith 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Conway | 2022 State AR -Wide Receiver/Running Back-Conway-2022
We found out this weekend that Smith will line up wherever the coaching staff ask him to play. Smith saw action at the wide receiver and running back positions last season. He is one of those players that has excellent speed and uses it to evade defenders. Smith is not brought down on initial contact and is a nightmare for linebackers to attempt to cover when he comes out of the backfield to catch a pass. During the Pylon camp in Dallas, Smith proved that he would line up wherever the team needs him when he saw some action in the secondary. The school that lands Smith is not going to be disappointed. Smith has the potential to have a monster season and he is off to an excellent start in seven-on-seven play.
Pierce Smalley Pierce Smalley 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Hot Springs | 2022 State AR -Athlete-Hot Springs-2022
Versatility is the name of the game for Smalley. Smalley lines up all over the field for the Hot Springs Trojans and he did the same thing this past weekend in Dallas at the Pylon camp. On the defensive side of the ball Smalley does an excellent job of harassing wide receivers. Smalley does an excellent job of high pointing the football and he has the hands to haul in the interception. He does not shy away from tackling and the Trojans have a playmaker in the secondary. Meanwhile, on the offensive side of the ball, Smalley has the speed to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. The Red Wolves of Arkansas State have offered Smalley and he is going to see more offers head his way over the next few months.
James Jointer James Jointer 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Little Rock Parkview | 2022 State AR -Running Back-Little Rock Parkview-2022
The Arkansas commit has proven that he has the speed to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. He does an excellent job of hauling in passes and his route running is impressive enough to create separation. When Jointer comes out of the backfield, defenses have a difficult time trying to account for him. Linebackers have problems running with him and the secondary players have a difficult time attempting to bring him down. Jointer is performing well in the camp circuit and he has the potential to have a huge season for the Parkview Patriots. Keep an eye on Jointer Arkansas fans you will like what you see.
Jacaylon Zachery Jacaylon Zachery 5'8" | 155 lbs | WR Prescott | 2022 State AR -Wide Receiver-Prescott-2022
The Prescott Curley Wolves is one of the most talented teams in the state of Arkansas going into the 2021 season. That talent was on display this past weekend at the Dallas Pylon camp. Zachery is a wide receiver that can stretch the field for the Curley Wolves. He has good hands, and his route running is consistent, he has the speed to create separation from the defensive backs. The Prescott coaching staff is creative with Zachery. The staff will line him in the offensive backfield, at wide receiver, and in the secondary. Zachery has the potential to have a huge 2021 season and the college team that lands him gets a player that can score from anywhere on the field.
Jaylen Hopson Jaylen Hopson 5'7" | 160 lbs | RB Prescott | 2022 State AR -Running Back-Prescott-2022
As we stated in the article earlier, the Curley Wolves are loaded with talent. Hopson gives the Curley Wolves a player that will run the ball, catch the ball, and return kicks. He has a second gear that he can turn to when he gets into the open field. Defensive players must wrap Hopson up or he will break the tackle and take it the distance. Hopson has good hands, and he does not drop passes. Hopson has earned scholarship offers from Arkansas State and Middle Tennessee State going into the offseason. He is a player that is going to earn more offers over the next few months. Hopson simply has too much speed and he is far too versatile for college teams to overlook.
