The state of Arkansas should be proud of the performances. The players we are going to examine in this article all had excellent camps. To kick off the week lets examine some of the players that had a productive trip to Dallas.
Chris Gannaway-Running Back-Bryant-2023
Bryant High School is becoming very well known for producing quality running backs and it looks like they have another great one in the form of Chris Gannaway. Gannaway displays that patience that the Bryant running backs are becoming well known for in allowing a rushing lane to develop. He has impressive speed and is able to display a second gear when he gets into the open field. Gannaway does a good job of catching the ball out of the backfield and he is a dangerous receiver that can stretch the field when used in the passing game. Gannaway is going to see share of snaps this season and he has the potential to have a big season for Bryant.
Daniel Perry Daniel Perry 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Searcy | 2022 State AR -Defensive Back-Searcy-2022
Opposing quarterbacks are starting to learn that throwing in Perry’s direction can lead to either an incompletion or an interception. Perry is a playmaker in the secondary and he was able to display that fact in Dallas this past weekend. He does an excellent job of playing the ball in the air and avoiding pass interference penalties. The versatility that Perry has is impressive. He can go from playing the cornerback position to seeing some time playing at both the wide receiver and the running back positions. The Searcy coaching staff is extremely creative in how they line Perry up on the field and over the past few years it has paid off in a big way for the Lions. As the offseason and camp circuit begins to heat up college scouts and coaches would be wise to keep an eye on Perry. He is a player that can play on Saturdays and he has the ability to shutdown the opposing team’s top wide receiver.
Mario Ganter-Defensive Back-El Dorado-2022
The 2022 defensive back class in the state of Arkansas is a talented one. Anytime you can include in a list Daniel Perry Daniel Perry 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Searcy | 2022 State AR and Mario Ganter, you know that you have a talented list being put together. Ganter does a terrific job of playing the ball in the air and he made some impressive plays in Dallas over the weekend. Ganter is a ballhawk and he is always around the football. Ganter shuts down one side of the field for El Dorado and he has been able to display in the camp circuit as well. Rice and Syracuse have both shown interest in Ganter and he is going to continue to attract the attention of division one programs as the year progresses. Keep an eye on Ganter he has the potential to have an explosive season.
Jody Easter Jody Easter 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB McGehee | 2022 State AR -Running Back-McGehee-2022
It comes as no surprise to see Easter performing well at the seven-on-seven tournaments this spring. Easter is not just a threat in the rushing game, he is also a threat as a wide receiver. Easter has the speed to create mismatches when it comes to opposing defensive players attempting to cover him. The McGehee coaching staff does a great job of putting Easter in position to make big plays. From a rushing perspective, Easter has the patience to allow rushing lanes to develop and he chooses the lane wisely. Easter has the potential to really take off in the camps over the spring and he should have an impressive 2021 season.
Malachi Henry Malachi Henry 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Van Buren | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Van Buren-2023
Henry has that combination of excellent speed and terrific route running. Henry had a terrific weekend in Dallas with several tough receptions that he made look easy. It should come as no surprise to fans of the Van Buren Pointers. Henry has been making the tough receptions look simple for the Pointers all year. Henry has already earned a scholarship offer from Middle Tennessee State and he has plenty of time to earn some more offers over the next year. He is going to be a player to watch in the camps and at Van Buren this season he has the potential to earn some Power-Five offers over the next two seasons.
