Freshmen That Are Turning Heads
In this article:
The 2024 class in Washington have been putting up some performances that should start to draw some attention there way, two of which coming from Life Christian Academy in Tacoma. They will only continue to get better from here, so here’s a look at 5 freshmen to take a look at:
Rahshawn Clark, ATH, 6’0″ 175lbs, Life Christian Academy
Clark is proving to be possibly the best freshman in Washington, and is definitely rising his stock. He has 15 receptions for 204 yards and a TD in 4 games played. He also contributes as a return man on special teams with 343 total return yards, and is a big play threat with the ball in his hands. A shifty, speedy kid with exceptional athleticism. He already holds an offer from Florida Atlantic, and will definitely be a power 5 level talent in the upcoming years.
Jake Schakel Jake Schakel 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA , QB, 6’1″ 190lbs, Emerald Ridge HS
Schakel is absolutely lighting it up this season, as he’s thrown for 449 yards and 7 TD’s thus far. He sits in the pocket with a good demeanor and goes through progression to find receivers downfield. He’s shown the ability to hit intermediate routes with velocity and timing, and plays very mature for his age at QB. Excellent poise and pocket presence all around and is a legit FBS talent to get on your radar.
Zach Schell Zach Schell 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Peninsula | 2024 State WA , RB/LB, 5’10″ 175lbs, Life Christian Academy
Another Life Christian Academy freshman that has been playing well, as he has ran for 259 yards and 4 TD’s, while adding another 84 yards on 9 receptions with a TD in the pass game. He’s recorded 13 tackles on defense as well, and is a scrappy player across the board. At RB, he shows a nice initial burst and displays solid lateral mobility to cut and stop on a dime.
Jackson Almond, WR/DB, 6’0″ 175lbs, Cascade Christian HS
Almond has been a beast on defense, racking up 28 total tackles and 2 INT’s. Against Bellevue Christian, Almond had a nice INT as he covered ground well to leap up and pluck it out of the air, and picked up a god chunk of yards on the return. He fills a good role as a freshman this season, and will definitely be an upcoming stud for Cascade Christian. He is a solid all-around athlete and will only continue to mature and get better.
Fabian Pacheco, LB, *No height/weight listed, Highland HS
Pacheco has managed to rack up 26 total tackles in 3 games played, with 11 of those being solo. Unfortunately, there’s not much information on Pacheco as far as official size or any film, but he is worth mentioning as the Highland freshman is having himself a nice freshman season thus far.
