The state of Arkansas has had a run of excellent tight ends that the state has produced. The list has names such as Hunter Henry, Chris Gragg, and DJ Williams. Examining the 2022 class, one name that is beginning to stand out is Salem tight end Tyler Siddons Tyler Siddons 6'5" | 250 lbs | TE Salem | 2022 State AR . In today’s Grabbing the Spotlight we are going to examine Tyler Siddons Tyler Siddons 6'5" | 250 lbs | TE Salem | 2022 State AR and shine the spotlight on the Salem tight end.
From a blocking perspective, Siddons is an absolute powerhouse. He uses his 6-5 frame well to get into the defensive end and the linebacker he blocks. Siddons is an unselfish player that is willing to create an open rushing lane for his teammates and get his teammates into the open field. Siddons blocks with a mean streak and his unselfish play and the way he blocks for his teammates is a trait that college coaches and scouts are looking for in a tight end.
Siddons is used effectively in the passing game as well. He does not drop passes and he does an impressive job of getting open. He is a matchup problem because of his size. He is too tall for most safeties to cover and too quick for most linebackers to attempt to cover. Siddons at the next level could be a dangerous receiving threat because of his quickness and his ability to catch the football.
Like all players working during the offseason. Siddons has goals for the offseason and areas he would like to improve in his game. Siddons is wanting to improve on his speed and agility. He knows that improving his speed even more will create problems for opposing defensive coordinators this season. Siddons is going to have the opportunity to impress this season and continue to earn the attention of scouts.
Siddons is a team first kind of player and he wants Salem to win and win big. The first goal that the team has is they want to win the conference championship. From winning the conference championship a deep playoff run is something that the Greyhounds would like to accomplish. Improving from week to week is going to be a big focus for the Greyhounds this season.
From a recruiting perspective, Siddons has started to draw the attention of several division one scouts. Tulane and Middle Tennessee State have already offered Siddons scholarships. Siddons will have an excellent chance to earn some more scholarship offers this season and that is something I expect him to accomplish. The young man has that work ethic and drive to get better and that is something that coaches, and scouts are wanting to see out of every player that they scout. Fans and scouts should keep an eye on Siddons his recruiting momentum is only trending upward.
