On both sides of the ball, the team will have plenty of stars return, and will also hope to groom even more young talent to contribute to the team’s success. As the off season commences, feel free to look at a few of our favorite returners for Marietta entering into next season.
Tyler Hughes Tyler Hughes 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Marietta | 2022 State GA – QB (2022)
Hughes, who played at the QB position last year, will be returning next season, and will look to add on to his previous success. Not only does Hughes show to has a decently strong arm, but he also has proves to have good pocket composure. He can deliver strikes down the filed with pressure in his face. He also has good ball placement, putting the ball in tight windows, and while also excelling in back shoulder passes and over the shoulder throws. While his footwork can be choppy at times, we ultimately feel that he has a ton of upside due to his fluid mechanics, and understanding of the game. Look for Hughes to add some offers to his list this upcoming season.
Daniel Martin Daniel Martin 6'3" | 190 lbs | LB Marietta | 2022 State GA – LB (2022)
As most readers are probably familiar, Daniel Martin Daniel Martin 6'3" | 190 lbs | LB Marietta | 2022 State GA will be returning for the Blue Devils this fall for his final high school football season. There is a ton to digest about his game, as he is a dominant force at the LB position due to his movement skills. Not only does he move fluidly for a backer when he is in coverage, but he does not waste time or steps when he makes tackles, and plays when stopping the run. Martin also uses good leverage, and is consistent with his sink and bend, and his ability to use his speed, and quick feet to fly around and make plays. Martin also has a great burst, and change of direction, which easily makes him one of the top recruits in the country. Expect him to have another strong season before he enters into the next level of play.
Jace Arnold Jace Arnold 5'6" | 121 lbs | DB Marietta | 2023 State GA – CB (2023)
Arnold, who showed out as a 2023 prospect last season, is set to return for the Blue Devils next season, and will be looking to add another strong high school season under his belt. Already, as a young prospect, Arnold has displayed the physique, and frame that plenty of college programs are looking or. With this, he is great in his ability to get in and out of his breaks cleanly, and to burst out of his steps and make plays on the ball. Paired with these traits, he also has good sink and bend, and is consistent in his footwork and ability to turn and run, as well as flip his hips. While doing so, Arnold also shows the speed that is necessary to play his position, and that he can match up on some of the best receivers in the state. As he enters into next season, look for him to continue to develop in his physical stature, and have another big year as far as recruiting goes.
Ezekiel Campbell– DL (2022)
When you cut on the tape of Campbell, it is easy to get excited about the high level of upside that he possesses as a pass rusher. Not only does he have the ideal size, and length that you want out of a DE, but he fires off of the ball, and moves with fluidity. Because of this, he does not move very stiffly, and he has very little wasted movement. He also bends well, and uses his feet, and hands effectively when working his way around OL. Not only does he create match up problems in the trenches due to such things, but he also shows to have the speed necessary to be turn the corner and make any play necessary, including plays in pursuit. Paired with this, Campbell also delivers a good pop on contact, and has no problem stepping up to make big time stops. Look for him to continue to be a force for the Blue Devils.
