Tanner Welch Tanner Welch 6'8" | 320 lbs | OL Northwest Rankin | 2023 State MS | 2023 OL | Hartfield Academy
At 6’8″ 305, Welch is already larger than some NFL tackles are. At Hartfield Academy, he started at right tackle and anchored the offensive line. Even though he is young, it is already easy to see that this guy is a legit college tackle prospect. Welch doesn’t have a ton of lower body stiffness in his hips and knees and is able to sink into his stance with ease. He shows good get off when the ball is snapped and does a good job at playing low to the ground. His feet move quickly and he is agile in space. In the run game, Welch’s strength is evident. He has a powerful upper body, but can move defenders with his lower body too. Playing mean is another thing this young offensive linemen does well. For college coaches looking for a tackle that oozes upside and potential, Tanner Welch Tanner Welch 6'8" | 320 lbs | OL Northwest Rankin | 2023 State MS is the guy to know about. Excited to watch how he continues to develop this year.
Barrett Burchyett | 2023 TE | Lewisburg
At 6’8″ 185, Barrett Burchyett is better known as a big time basketball player at Lewisburg. Burchyett also plays tight end for the football team though. He is another dual sport athlete that coaches nowadays rave over. Although he is lean, Burchyett is primarily used as a blocking tight end at Lewisburg. The team consistently only has one receiver out wide and focuses on running the ball, but Burchyett dominates his role. He has good athleticism and is an active and tough blocker. You can tell he has a basketball background in the way that he plays on the balls of his feet. Burchyett is a super intriguing camp prospect for college coaches. If he can catch and run routes well, he could be a HUGE asset for a college program looking for an athletic tight end.
Hudson Brown Hudson Brown 6'5" | 210 lbs | QB Northpoint Christian | 2023 State MS | 2023 QB | Northpoint Christian
At 6’5″ 210, Hudson Brown Hudson Brown 6'5" | 210 lbs | QB Northpoint Christian | 2023 State MS could be one of the largest quarterbacks in recent memory in Mississippi. Brown has a huge cannon for an arm and can rocket the ball downfield. Hudson thrives in vertically based offenses that give him the ability to throw deep balls at a high completion percentage rate. He has a smooth release and can seemingly flick his wrist to propel the ball. Playing with big time confidence, Brown trusts his arm and is willing to make risky throws into tight windows. As an athlete, Brown does not have a ton of twitch or straight line speed to him. This is the kind of prospect that will dominate a camp setting and play very well in a pro style offense. Look for him to continue to develop this upcoming season and be a quick riser.
Kelley Jones Kelley Jones 6'4" | 200 lbs | DB Clarksdale | 2023 State MS | 2023 DB | Clarksdale
At 6’4″ 200, Kelley Jones Kelley Jones 6'4" | 200 lbs | DB Clarksdale | 2023 State MS is a scary sight at the defensive back position. At Clarksdale, Jones lines up as a free safety. This guy is a flat out baller. Jones is a rangy ballhawk who can make plays all over the field. He has great judgement on where the ball will be and has the hands to come down with INTs. Covering ground is easy for Jones, as he has solid sideline to sideline speed. Jones plays his best ball as a over top zone coverage player. Would love to see him continue to develop and become a more dominant force player in the box. Jones has all the tools to become a collegiate safety by the time he graduates high school.
