Kieran Chai-Onn Richard Montgomery Class of 2021
With both Brian Plummer Brian Plummer 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Quince Orchard | 2021 State MD and Christian Veilleux Christian Veilleux 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Bullis | 2021 State MD , both securing D1 offers they may choose to opt-out or enroll early. If this is the case Kieran Chai-Onn may be the best all-around quarterback in the county. Chai-Onn is comfortable leaving the pocket and throwing on the run. He makes quick decisive reads off play-action and RPOs. He throws a nice fade in the red zone that gives defenses fits. He also isn’t afraid to stretch the field and throw the deep ball. Look for Richard Montgomery to really lean on Chai-Onn and open up the offense this season.
Octavian Smith Octavian Smith 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Paint Branch | 2022 State MD Paint Branch Class of 2022
Smith is one of the most explosive players in the county. Smith is not afraid to take off and run, and he is a very dynamic runner. Smith being so dangerous with his legs allows Paint Branch’s screen game to flourish as Smith is fantastic at attracting in defenders and throwing it right over their heads. However, Smith is not only a runner, but Smith also has a fantastic deep ball and that makes him one of the most dangerous players in the county.
Aaron Brown Poolesville Class of 2021
Aaron Brown is another dual-threat quarterback that hopes to build off a strong season. Brown is a weapon on zone reads and is a great runner in the open space. Brown is also willing to make tough throws especially when he is on the run and out of the pocket. Brown has the speed and running ability to be a true dual-threat Quarterback that keeps defenses up at night. Brown needs to develop more as a passer particularly in the pocket but if he shows improvement in that area this season it will be a scary sight for opposing defenses.
Khalif Welch Blair Class of 2021
When you watch Welch the first thing that comes to mind is athleticism. Welch is athletic and a great athlete. Welch is willing to throw on the run and get out of the pocket and make plays. Welch needs to work on his mechanics as he does not throw a pretty ball. Welch has the talent to be a force in this county now let’s see if he will be able to put it all together this season.
Diego Mendez Diego Mendez 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Damascus | 2021 MD Damascus Class of 2021
Mendez is a prototypical quarterback that coaches look for at the next level. Mendez has great size and strength as he measures in at 6’4 200lbs. Mendez was the backup for his first three seasons and not only that but he also plays on a very run-heavy team. Mendez posses a strong arm. With this mix of size and arm Mendez could really make a name for himself as a first-year starter at Damascus.
