Finishing 3-4, including a playoff lost to Homestead, this is a program that is ready for the challenge of 2021 – and heads toward spring with plenty of optimism.
While there was that loss to Homestead and a few others along the way, the Sharks prefer to focus on the wins and positives – such as beating Immokalee (44-6), Naples Lely (33-29) and Naples Golden Gate (42-0).
The gear thing about this upcoming season is this program has the talent and experience to get over the .500 mark and make another playoff push.
Key rising seniors (2022) prospects like John Paul Janick (LB, 6-0, 205 – 4.7 GPA, 1230 SAT), Quinn Hepler (LB, 6-0, 175 – 4.31 GPA), Cal Jarbo (RB, 5-9, 165 – 3.1 GPA) and Damian Torres (DB, 6-0, 150 – 3.8 GPA) all have the talent and experience that can truly be an asset to this program.
All have grades as well. In fact, this program boasts 13 student/athletes with a 3.0 or better. Three of those impressive prospects have a 4.0 or better – and that adds up to plenty of balance in this program.
In addition, the 2022 class also has quality prospects like Brandon Shoplack (WR/FS, 5-9, 150 – 3.7 GPA), Aaron Bickerton Aaron Bickerton K Naples Gulf Coast | 2022 FL (PK, 6-2, 180 – 2.93 GPA), Dominic Colantonio (OL, 6-6, 220 – 4.2 GPA), Logan Fitzgerald (LB, 6-1, 200 – 3.97 GPA), Garrett Holden (OL, 6-3, 250 – 2.65 GPA) and defensive back Robert Mascia (6-0, 180 – 3.42).
JUNIOR CLASS IS READY TON CONTRIBUTE
As the rising seniors will lend that experience and talent, the Class of 2023 (rising juniors) are also ready to showcase their many impressive student/athletes, who have worked hard to get this program over the hump.
Among those catalysts the Sharks will be looking at include quarterback Konner Barrett (6-2, 190 – 3.18 GPA), versatile linebacker/tight end Harry Takacs (6-0, 205 – 3.32 GPA) and receiver Joseph Miller (6-1, 190 – 3.21 GPA). All three of these quality student/athletes have achieved on the football field as well as the classroom.
While those three young men will be athletes to keep an eye on this spring, summer and into the season – also watch impressive players such as Hyrum Dewsnup (OL/DL, 6-3, 230 – 3.8 GPA), Sebastian Dumont (DB, 5-9, 175), Jack Griffith (WR, 6-3, 180 – 4.32 GPA), Mike Guisto (OL, 6-0, 220 – 3.22 GPA), Ty Keller (QB, 6-2, 190 – 4.1 GPA), Thomas Mattia (WR/RB, 5-11, 165 – 3.37 GPA), Wil Pasternak (RB, 5-8, 170 – 3.64 GPA), Marvin Semeous (DB, 6-0, 160 – 3.1 GPA) and offensive lineman Shaden Shields (6-1, 200 – 3.76 GPA).
