We are going to look at a few players that have the potential to have a big weekend in the camps. When the players that attend these camps put up big performances, they end up having the spotlight pointed at them even more intensely. We will include in this list a few freshmen prospects that are going to be catching eyes over the next few years.
Cooper Wilcox Cooper Wilcox 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Greenbrier | 2022 State AR -Quarterback-Greenbrier-2022
One quarterback that has been a well-kept secret over the past year or so has been Greenbrier quarterback Cooper Wilcox Cooper Wilcox 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Greenbrier | 2022 State AR . Wilcox has a strong arm, and he does an excellent job of being able to hit his receivers in stride. The accuracy that Wilcox has displayed is impressive and he gives Greenbrier a returning upper classman at the quarterback position. Meanwhile, his willingness to use his legs and pick up key yards to extend drives has earned the respect of his teammates. Wilcox will be participating in the Elite-11 quarterback challenge in Houston, and he has an opportunity to catch the eyes of scouts with his performance this weekend.
Jordan Mills Jordan Mills 6'4" | 210 lbs | QB Hot Springs Lakeside | 2022 State AR -Quarterback-Hot Springs Lakeside-2022
Mills has the size that scouts are looking at 6-4 and 209 pounds. Meanwhile, he also has the arm strength that coaches and scouts like to see. Mills can make deep throws look extremely easy and does so with a flick of the wrist. Mills can throw a heater and force into a tight window or he can throw it with some touch and not have a problem completing either pass. He moves around in the pocket and can extend plays and do so effectively. Mills is a player that scouts are going to want to keep an eye on this coming season. Mills will be participating in the Elite-11 quarterback challenge in Houston. Mills is another player that with a good performance could explode onto the recruiting scene this season.
Dax Goff-Running Back/Linebacker-Booneville-2024
Goff is a freshman to keep an eye on over the next few years. From a defensive perspective he plays with tremendous speed and is not afraid to deliver a hit. At 6-1 and 195 pounds, Goff has the size to play the linebacker or the running back positions and he does so at both effectively. He has terrific hands and does not have a problem hanging onto the football. Goff has tremendous potential on both sides of the ball and knowing the Booneville Bearcats’ coaching staff they will know exactly where to position him. He is a player to keep an eye on and has tremendous potential to wind up playing on Saturdays in the not-too-distant future.
Casey Johnson III-Running Back-Benton-2022
Johnson III is an incredibly productive running back. He has the ability to take it the distance on every carry, no matter where he is on the field. Johnson III rushed for 1,240 yards and 18 touchdowns on the season. What really stands is not only his speed but his hands as well. The Benton coaching staff does a terrific job of using Johnson III in the passing game. He has the potential to light up the seven-on-seven circuit with his receiving ability. Johnson III has an extra gear that he uses well in the open field. Scouts should keep an eye on just how versatile the Benton running back is and just how he uses his speed to get into the open field.
