Pylon 7-on-7 Defensive Standouts
In this article:
The Pylon 7-on-7 tournament this past weekend in Atlanta featured many amazing prospects from all over. The tournament provided a great opportunity for prospects to test their skills against other talented competition. Multiple Georgia prospects showed up and showed out. Today we are looking at some of the top performers on the defensive side of the ball.

Hunter has already made a name for himself, he’s our number one recruit for the class of 2022 and has already committed to FSU. He backed up his name at this tournament and was the best player there. Hunter flashed on both sides of the ball. He had a sweet, jumping one-handed catch in the endzone that really showed off his athleticism. He was impressive on defense and amazing in coverage. Hunter had a great interception on a play where he jumped the route. He has good instincts and is technically sound. Hunter is truly a joy to watch and I look forward to seeing him at the next level.

Hunter was not the only player you could not take your eyes off as Bouie looked special. Another great athlete, he made plays on offense and defense. He read quarterbacks’ eyes well this past weekend and challenged them greatly. His football instincts are impressive as he displayed good reaction time. Bouie has an amazing, smooth backpedal. He did not struggle in man and looked fantastic sticking to his man. He was a ball hawk and made plays for his team. Bouie covered the backend nicely and did not let anything over the top. He has already committed to Georgia and they have to love the prospect they are getting.
C.J. Washington

Washington

Cedartown | 2022
State
GA
, LB, Class of 2022, Cedartown
Washington looked good both days and showed why he is a Georgia commit. He is a high motor player that flies to the ball. This past weekend he showed how fast and fluid he moves in coverage and it was impressive. He maintained loose hips and moved comfortably across the field. He looked good in zone, he clearly has a strong understanding of how to play the underneath coverage. Washington was aware of his surroundings and his position to other players relative to them and did a good job picking up and passing off receivers. Washington will be a nice addition to Georgia.
Emory Floyd

Floyd

Hillgrove | 2022
State
GA
, S, Class of 2022, Hillgrove
Floyd is a fantastic safety and only continued to prove that this past weekend. He is a speedster and does struggle to catch back up to receivers. He showed a good grasp of the position this past weekend, shoring up the back end of the defense. Floyd did not give anything easy over the top. He can cover much ground. Floyd has a nice backpedal and glides across the field. Floyd is scheduled to announce his commitment on May 7th.
Ethan Nation

Nation
6'0" | 170 lbs | DB
Roswell | 2023
State
GA
, CB, Class of 2023, Roswell
Nation is a young stud from Roswell with offers from Michigan, Alabama, and Auburn to name a few. He is a great athlete and can change direction with ease. Nation was awesome in coverage this past weekend, and really challenged quarterbacks to put it where only their receiver could catch it. He looked comfortable picking up receivers in his zone and passing them off. Nation impressed reading the quarterback’s eyes and breaking quickly on routes. Nation is one of the best corners in Georgia’s class of 2023 with the potential to be the best.
Jace Arnold

Marietta | 2023

, CB, Class of 2023, Marietta
Arnold flashed this weekend and I expect him to receive a few more offers this offseason. His movement was fluid and his reaction time was good. Arnold broke on receivers quickly. He looked legit in coverage and did a great job covering his whole zone. Arnold contested a couple of passes. Overall, he made a statement this past weekend and is a prospect to keep your eyes on.
