Zavion Woodard Zavion Woodard 5'8" | 200 lbs | RB New Town | 2022 MD , New Town, RB, 5’8″ 200lbs, 2022
New Town came out and imposed their will on this game from the start. At the head of this attack was Zavion Woodard Zavion Woodard 5'8" | 200 lbs | RB New Town | 2022 MD . He contributed two touchdowns and had two others called back for penalties. This production is not a surprise when you look back at his sophomore season. He is a well-rounded back who showed all his tools on Saturday. Zavion possesses good speed, with an ability to pull away from defenders. He also does not mind putting his shoulder into defenders. When he was tackled, Zavion always fell forward. This a great start to the spring season, and will give him a boost going into the rest of New Town’s games.
Kendal Marks Kendal Marks 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Mergenthaler Vo-Tech | 2022 State MD , New Town, CB, 5’10″ 165lbs, 2022
Kendal is one of the tone-setters for New Town. He plays defense and special teams for New Town. On defense, Kendal is a physical corner that loves to get his hands on WR’s or take-on runners coming at him. Kendal is a sure-tackler that when in the open-field, cuts down the runners violently. He has good fundamentals, consistently attacking the runner’s waist and getting his helmet across the runner’s body. On special teams, he was typically the first one down the field and made several tackles. Kendal is a high-effort, physical player that plays each play like it is his last. This spring has given him a chance to show his development, and he is making the most of it.
Armon Martin-Moore, New Town, OL, 6’2″ 255lbs, 2021
The West Virginia Wesleyan College commit was at left guard for New Town on Saturday. What stood out was that he consistently finished the play laying on top of his blocking assignment. He plays with a great motor and continues driving his opponent until he is on the ground. He has a great grip and does not let go once he has a hold of the defender. This is a major component of his success. And, after going back and watching highlights from other players, Armon stood out on every play. When pulling, he has good mobility and gets to his assignment. This shortened season is a big opportunity for him to build momentum going into the start of his college career.
