QB: Steve Angeli, 6’3, 205, 2022
A strong timing thrower with good footwork in the pocket and great ball placement. Angeli will climb the pocket with defenders bearing down and will have his eyes downfield looking for a target. The pure arm strength is there, as is the ability to drop the deep ball right into the breadbasket.
DB: Jaeden Gould Jaeden Gould 6'2" | DB Bergen Catholic | 2022 State NJ , 6’2, 190, 2022
A tall corner that is not afraid to come up and set the edge. Gould shows swift feet in press & can open his hips to reverse pivot against a false release. He’s shown good top-end speed when working out of a shuffle and will fight to not allow a receiver into his blindspot. He uses his long arms well in both his off-hand jam and when shooting his hand to bat away passes.
RB: Ryan Butler Ryan Butler 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB Bergen Catholic | 2022 State NJ , 5’11, 205, 2022
A stout back who can easily stop and start. He’s patient behind the line waiting for his blocks to set up before bursting through a hole. Butler runs with a low pad level and can provide a ton of value as a pass-catcher on top of it. He can even line up in the slot and will be a mismatch on opposing linebackers.
DT: Sydir Mitchell, 6’5, 290, 2023
Mitchell looks like a grown man and not someone whose a sophomore in high school. He’s a nose tackle through and through & will give offensive linemen fits in single blocking schemes. He does a good job of playing low and eating up double teams when need be. He can create penetration off the snap, and it’s not uncommon to see him drive an OL into the backfield.
DE: DJ Samuels, 6’1, 240, 2023
A fierce pass rusher with an outstanding get off. Samuels will fight through double teams and do everything in his power to get to the quarterback. He’s shown a nasty bull rush and violent hands to rip off opposing blocks. Quite frankly, he’s one of the best pass rushers I’ve seen in the 2023 class.
DB: Jayden Bellamy Jayden Bellamy 6'1" | DB Bergen Catholic | 2022 State NJ , 6’1, 175, 2022
A safety prospect with great instincts and anticipation. Bellamy has shown consistent breaks that rarely leave the framework of his body. In man coverage, he will break to the intended target and won’t look back until he gets there. He does a good job of staying square in his pedal and weaving towards an intended target. He’s a strong tackler who’s not afraid to stick his nose from c gap to c gap and make a tackle.
WR: Santino Correa, 6’1, 175, 2022
A fantastic route runner who can straight up fool opposing team’s cornerbacks with his double moves. Correa shows soft hands and will look the ball all the way into the tuck. As a blocker, he’s quite physical and will do the dirty work playing from whistle to whistle.
DL: Dominick Brogna, 6’3, 295, 2022
Man, is this guy twitchy for a big man. Brogna has such quick hands and an impressive first step. He plays with a low base and will literally drive guards into the backfield in pass-rushing situations. TFL’s were not hard to come by for Brogna in 2020 as he was living in the opponent’s backfield. He holds two offers from Fordham & Army, and I think more will be coming soon.
LB: Esquire Boyce Esquire Boyce 6'0" | LB Bergen Catholic | 2022 NJ , 6’1, 220, 2022
A solid blitzer with good burst and acceleration. Boyce can come to balance and make open-field tackles look easy. He’s physical on contact and will drive his feet until the ball carrier is put down. To me, he’s athletic enough to play all three linebacker spots and could provide value as a swing guy at the next level.
TE: Larue Linder, 6’3, 225, 2022
A physical blocker at the point of attack whose not afraid to drive someone through the endzone. I love this kid’s mindset as he’s constantly looking to bury defenders into the turf. Linder can provide a ton of value in the short-intermediate passing game and will be a YAC monster. He’s a sleeper in my eyes.
John Fiore, 6’1, 205, 2022
A tough run-stopper who is quick diagnosing the run. Fiore is a high effort player who refuses to give up on any play. He’ll scrape down the line backside and make up for other’s mistakes.
Jack Comeau, 6’3, 230, 2023
Jack has shown extremely soft hands for a big man and can make tough catches look easy. As a blocker, he plays with good knee bend and will punch on a rise. He can get it done inline and helped spring multiple big runs in 2020. I think he’s got Division one potential and should see his stock rise.
Other Names to Watch
OL: Jack Syslo, 6’2, 270, 2022
DE: Christian Ross, 6’3, 215, 2022
OL: Joe Matone, 6’, 250, 2022
