Cael Stewart Cael Stewart 6'5" | 210 lbs | QB Blue Ridge | 2022 AZ , 6’5″ 210lbs, St. Johns HS
Stewart transferred into St. Johns from Miyamura High in New Mexico. He sizes up with a long athletic frame and is your prototypical pro-style QB. He stands tall and collected in the pocket with poise, and delivers with a fluid, over the top release. He shows good torque on his release which gives him that extra velocity. Stewart goes through progression well and has shown the ability to hit tight window throws. Solid placement on throws and displays good timing with his receivers. He has a good deep ball trajectory and should be lethal this upcoming season.
Caden Cantrell Caden Cantrell 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Snowflake | 2022 State AZ , 6’2″ 200lbs, Snowflake HS
Cantrell really stepped up in his first year as a starter, and led Snowflake to the 3A State Championship to beat Yuma Catholic. He threw for 1,811 yards and 14 TD’s, and added another 319 yards and 3 TD’s on the ground. He looked mature for a first year starter, and did a good job getting the ball out quick. He hit shallow and intermediate throws with velocity and timing. He’s shown the ability to extend plays and find receiver downfield, and flashed the ability to throw off-platform. Massive potential for Cantrell heading into his senior year.
Matthew McClelland Matthew McClelland 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Arete Prep | 2022 State AZ , 6’2″ 175lbs, Arete Prep
McClelland ha a ig yer for 2A Arete Prep as he threw for 1,567 yards and 12 TD’s while rushing for another 826 yards and 10 TD’s. He displays solid placement on throws with the ability to throw receivers open. He can deliver accurate throws on the run, and showed an impressive ability to make tough throws off platform. He has good speed once he decides to take off an get upfield and holds big play ability on the ground. He’s a two-way standout and a very good all around athlete. He can improve his pocket mechanics, but holds big potential going forward.
Hayden Hallett Hayden Hallett 6'2" | 165 lbs | QB Pusch Ridge | 2022 State AZ , 6’2″ 170lbs, Pusch Ridge Christian academy
Hallett is one of two QB standouts for the 3A contender Pusch Ridge. He displays a solid pre-snap read and often knows where he’s going with the ball. He has excellent arm strength and can let it fly to stretch the field vertically. He delivers throws with excellent placement and has shown the ability to throw receivers open. Hallett delivers with a smooth release and does a good job distinguishing whether to use touch vs velocity. He’s flashed the ability to make plays on the ground as well, but his best trait is his arm strength.
Ryan Fontaine Ryan Fontaine 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Pusch Ridge | 2022 State AZ , 5’11″ 170lbs, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy
Fontaine is the other QB standout and a talented all around athlete for Pusch Ridge. He is an absolute escape artist and is fun to watch with the ball in his hands. He can turn a sack into a big gain, and is a flat out playmaker. He shows nice touch on deep balls and throws well on the run as a passer, and gets the ball out quick when he needs to. He’s shifty with the ability to make opponents miss with a nice burst upfield. He has to be an identified threat when game planning against Pusch Ridge, and could potentially have a breakout senior season.
