Continue ReadingThrough his impressive coaching career, Willis May has always been able to build the programs that he coached with quality and disciplined athletes, who not only get it done on the football field, but also in the classroom – as his South Fort Myers Wolfpack have shown with a number of student/athletes posting a better than 3.0 GPA.
On the football field, 5-4 will never get done what May and his team have set goal to achieve.
While losses to Fort Myers (29-14), Ida Baker (13-7), North Fort Myers (25-7) and to Island Coast (13-9) in the playoffs are games to learn from, it was the five wins – against Fort Myers Riverdale (43-8), East Lee (70-6), Island Coast (21-14), Estero (63-0) and a thrilling 13-12 upset over playoff program Fort Myers Dunbar that will carry this program in the off-season.
CLASS OF 2022 PROSPECTS ARE READY TO GO
As the Wolfpack look toward the 2021 season, they do it with the knowledge has the rising senior class has the talent, experience and leadership to keep this program in the playoff mix.
Prospects such as quarterback Duncan Smith (6-0, 180), Nathan Castor (RB/DB, 6-0, 195), Jahleen Huffman (TE/DE, 6-4, 225), Tarelle Brown Tarelle Brown RB South Fort Myers | 2022 FL (RB/DB, 5-5, 150), Joseph Santoro (OL/DL, 5-9, 270), Kirilli Bykov (TE/DE, 6-2, 205), Syncere Trice (WR/DB, 5-6, 140) and Jerry Cooper, a 5-9, 180-pounder, who plays running back and linebacker, give this program solid athletes and leaders.
THE FUTURE IS INDEED BRIGHT
With an outstanding group of seniors expected to lead this program, there are seven underclassmen who certainly add to this team.
Class of 2023 talent such as Raja Young (OL/DL, 6-0, 270), Andre Jocelyn (RB/LB, 5-11, 180) and Mike Hendrix (TE/DE, 6-3, 198).
The gifted Class of 2024 also has talent that will continue to give this program and Coach May in the spotlight.
Among those athletes include Quarice Vance (FB/LB, 5-8, 190), Jacoby Mason (FB/LB, 5-8, 247), Chase Enguita (RB, 5-10, 140) and M.J. Warchol, a 6-6, 225-pound two-way lineman.
