Hall himself is a Mississippi boy growing up in Amory and playing for his dad, Bobby, who is a Mississippi High School coaching legend himself. After his high school playing days, Will went on to play at Northwest Mississippi Community College before finishing up his playing career at The University of North Alabama. At the end of the day, Hall knows the state of Mississippi like the back of his hand, and it has been proven on the recruiting trail so far.
The month of March has been huge for the Golden Eagles so far, seeing them add 5 commitments from Mississippi high schoolers and tagging on one commit from the Mississippi JUCO system as well.
On the offensive side of the ball USM fans have a lot to be excited about early on with this class. Kenyon Clay Kenyon Clay 6'0" | 210 lbs | RB Union | 2022 State MS is a do it all playmaker from Union, MS who will best project as a RB at the next level. 45 TD’s as a JR turned a lot of eyes in his direction last year. Easy explosiveness jumps off the tape of Clay and will best help him contribute immediately when stepping on campus in Hattiesburg. Cameron Knox Cameron Knox 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH New Albany | 2022 State MS has been a huge stock riser as an ATH already this spring. Smooth athletic ability is apparent with Knox who is a true pest with the football in his hands. Potential to play on either side of the ball is there with the 2022 recruit from New Albany, but expect him to be a future star in a Will Hall led offense. Help on the offensive line is also on the way for USM. Twin brothers Kamron Barnes Kamron Barnes 6'5" | 325 lbs | OL Adams County Christian | 2022 State MS and Kyron Barnes Kyron Barnes 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL Adams County Christian | 2022 State MS are the first two offensive trench performers on board for the class of ’22. Kamron will project at the guard position due in part to the size advantage he has over his brother. Kyron, a big boy in his own right, possesses a bit of a more lean frame and will project more at the tackle spot.
Defensively USM has pledges from two defensive linemen led by Kalvin Dinkins Kalvin Dinkins 6'3" | 310 lbs | DL Lake | 2022 State MS at defensive tackle. Dinkins is a monster on the inside at well over 300 lbs and will be a future run stuffer. The inside technique will bode well for the Lake, MS native. The commit last as it stands today is rounded out by Jones College defensive end Jordyn Mahaffey.
Without a doubt the early recruiting traction in state has belonged to Hall and Co. in Hattiesburg. Eyes will be watching as spring carries on and summer approaches to see if the momentum can be sustained. A good start to the class of 2022 is evident.
