Here’s three prospects to watch in the state as we kick off a brand new week heading into the month of April. If you missed our first version of the series, check it out here: Blythewood – 2022 WR Chase…
Analysis: Smith is listed at 6’2, 180 pounds who is what you want out of a receiver. He uses his size to his advantage. He runs crisp routes and uses his eyes to catch the ball at its highest point. There was one play on his film where he did an outstanding job of selling his block long enough to hold the corner and the safety off to where he could go up and make the catch, knowing he would get hit. He is also capable of throwing a block out from his teammates as well. He is an excellent student with a 4.1 GPA.
Analysis: The majority of snaps that Johnson took were at the left tackle position on offense. He can get to the second level quickly to the backer and has an aggressive shove to knock guys off the ball. He has good feet and can get out in space and throw out blocks on screen plays as well. We believe there was at least one pancake block on his film as well.
Analysis: McVay is a big and strong offensive linemen listed at 6’1, 305 pounds and what stood out about him on film in watching him is his ability to pull block on running plays, creating lanes for the back to run through. He also has good hands in pass pro and can overpower defensive linemen by driving them right into the ground.
