Two is better than one, and here is a look at the best offensive and defensive tandems in the state of Michigan’s 2022 class. Athleticism is always a strong separator of talent, but these players have the hunger and the discipline on the field to play the game fast, yet sound. The Cass Tech and Belleville programs have been powerhouses in Michigan for a while now, and that trent will certainly continue.
Karriem Sharrieff Karriem Sharrieff 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Cass Tech | 2022 State MI , 5’11, 195, Cass Tech
Sharrieff really looks great on film. His speed and size combination is outstanding and really does a good job of finding the right holes and making plays out of the backfield. He’s still got room to continue to add some weight as he grows, and already has the intangibles necessary, thus why he excels at such a high level for Cass Tech. Many running backs have one trait or another, one skill or another, but Sharrieff has the whole package. His foot quickness compliments his overall speed and athleticism very well. His success during his senior year will certainly continue, and that will be aided by his teammate on the offensive line.
Jackson Pruitt Jackson Pruitt 6'3" | 260 lbs | OL Cass Tech | 2022 State MI , 6’3, 260, Cass Tech
Pruitt has the perfect size for an offensive guard as he heads into his senior season, where he’ll continue to add to his frame. He carries a big responsibility on Cass Techs offensive line, blocking for Sharrieff and allowing the team to put up points. He almost looks like a tight end on the field, given his speed and athleticism, and does an impressive job in the run game pulling around end and blocking downfield. That’s not something every guard can do at a high level, making Pruitt extremely valuable to his team.
Cameron Dyson Cameron Dyson 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Belleville | 2022 State MI , 6’3, 215, Belleville
Dyson is a lean body at linebacker, and really does a great job of leading the high energy Belleville defense. He can rush the passer and drop back in coverage and stick with pass catchers very well. What stands out the most is his versatility, as there truly aren’t many players with his frame at 6’3, 215 pounds, that also have the speed and tenacity to be a game changer on the field. Dyson is backed up by his teammate in the secondary, who does an outstanding job of complimenting him in the event that opposing quarterbacks manage to toss the ball downfield on them.
Deshaun Lee Deshaun Lee 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Belleville | 2022 State MI , 5’10, 160, Belleville
Lee isn’t the biggest player on the field, but he’ll sneak up and shock teams with his skill set. His speed is superior to most players at the high school level, making him an absolute star for Belleville. He plays both sides of the ball, wide receiver and defensive back, though with some added size he could really be a shutdown corner at a high level. He has a natural knack for the game, and is just about the total package.
