In a state known traditionally for the quality defensive players it puts out, the class of 2023 in Mississippi looks like a big time offensive class so far. There are multiple QBs, WRs, RBs, and OL that will play at the next level already. With most of them getting ready to have a big spring ball season soon, let’s check out 5 of the top offensive players to keep an eye on.

Howard could already be one of the best pure passers in the state of Mississippi. At 6’3″ 185, he has a great frame for a soon to be junior to keep growing into. Howard has an incredibly release. The ball comes out of his hand with speed and trajectory that quarterbacks at the highest level possess. As he scans the field, Howard makes excellent reads downfield and rarely makes mistakes. He manages the game well and doesn’t turn the ball over. His accuracy at all levels is very impressive as well, as he can hit 15 yard outs just as consistently as deep vertical breaking routes. With a flick of his wrist, the ball can sail downfield. Howard also has quick and active feet in the pocket, giving him the ability to move around well to avoid the rush. At 6’2″ 200, Jones is a force to be reckoned with. He shows all the abilities that a future elite running back would have. Jones also has great vision and can see holes open before they are really open. Talent like Jones’ is truly rare. If the ball is in his hands, he is going to score. The do it all athlete plays in every single play of a game and produces. At 6’3″ 200, he has an excellent frame to pick whatever position he wants to play at the next level. Perkins is the definition of “show up and play something.” He’s long, fast, and physical. As a receiver, he has strong hands and can go up and get the ball. His team uses him on jet sweep plays and sweeps as well to let him work in the open field. He can even throw the ball! The guy can do it all and a college team will have to make the tough decision on where he will play the rest of his career. As tall and lanky as he is, he is the perfect fit for a modern day outside receiving role. Williams has a great release at the line of scrimmage and can use his feet to get him open. He has good straight line speed and can kick it into a second gear. What stands out most about his game is his ability to control his body, Williams has a great knack for being able to adjust mid air to a ball to catch it. Due to his body type, athleticism, and even high school, Ellis has drawn comparison to current LT Charles Cross at Mississippi State. Ellis is a special kind of lineman that probably has the athleticism to play skill positions at the high school level. He has elite foot quickness and can bend incredibly easily. Ellis is explosive out of his stance and already has refined technique in pass protection. In addition, he can run in space to benefit the screen game.
