Continue ReadingThe quarterback position has continued to evolve in the past ten years. Dynamic playmakers have come to the forefront and the days of pocket passers being a commodity are a distant memory. At the college level, all four of the top QB prospects in the 2021 NFL draft are mobile playmakers that can create something out of nothing. It opens things up for offenses and keeps the defense honest.
Michigan has some top prep playmakers at quarterback for the fall 2021 season. Here’s a list of some of the top big arms in Michigan high school football for the 2021 season:
Larry Robinson II Larry Robinson II 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Saline | 2022 State MI
Robinson II has some interest from Central Michigan as he heads into his senior season in 2021. He plays with confidence and does a nice job of going through his read downfield. He’s raw in terms of potential and has a high ceiling. Robinson plays with tons of competitiveness, and that’s something recruiters will love to see. It’s going to be exciting to watch him continue to grow as a player.
Mike DePillo Mike DePillo 6'5" | 200 lbs | QB Clarkston | 2022 State MI
The Clarkston quarterback is extremely elusive on film. In the pocket, he is nearly impossible to touch. The touch he provides on his deep throws is another thing that stands out. DePillo has some interest from Central Michigan, according to 247Sports.
Brandon Mann Brandon Mann 6'4" | 225 lbs | QB Detroit Country Day | 2022 State MI
Mann has all the tools to excel at the next level. He has a huge frame, a big arm, and the athletic ability to create plays on his own. Like Robinson II, there’s so much of his game that has yet to get tapped into and it will be exciting to see him continue to blossom this fall.
Vinny Booth Vinny Booth 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Harper Woods | 2022 State MI
While he performs well as a playmaker, I think Booth shows a ton of positive traits at the line of scrimmage. It seems like he can control the game and doesn’t get fazed much. Booth has some MAC interest as he heads into his senior season. The class of 2022 quarterback has tons of room for growth in his game, but the tools are there for him to have a strong year in 2021.
Bryson Huckeby Bryson Huckeby 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Freeland | 2022 MI
Huckeby is an exciting quarterback on film. He can make something out of nothing and give his teammates a huge lift offensively. His gutsy nature will be something recruiters will love to see, and it will translate to the college game well. Huckeby will have a huge 2021 season for Freeland.
