In North Georgia alone, some of the state’s top-ranked football players in this last calendar year have excelled in another spot as well. It’s great to see these young superstars staying active outside of football season, and it shows how truly athletic players from the peach state really are.
Here are some dual-sport standouts from the North Georgia Area…
Dylan Fairchild Dylan Fairchild 6'5" | 300 lbs | OL West Forsyth | 2021 State GA – West Forsyth
The massive 6-foot-5 300-pound offensive lineman and future Georgia Bulldog slipped down to 285-pounds after the football season and took home his second consecutive 7A heavyweight state championship in easy fashion. Fairchild was undefeated as a senior this winter with 22 wins and 22 pins. Fairchild won the championship as a junior as well, and won his final match of his career as a senior in 25 seconds. He’s a physically gifted young man who also shines in the weight room the same way he dominates on the gridiron and the wrestling match. Not only is Fairchild one of the top offensive line prospects in the country, but he’s quite possibly the best heavyweight wrestler in the entire country as well. The Forsyth County native has great balance, plays with leverage, and is so strong in both his upper and lower body. Throw in his athleticism and it’s easy to see him possibly playing football on Sundays one day.
Congrats to All-American Georgia football signee @DylanFairchild6 for his assault on the 7A state heavyweight wrestling bracket this weekend. Mr. Fairchild is a dominant 2-time state champ. That kiss at the end was like something @RicFlairNatrBoy would do. pic.twitter.com/WnvWnSOQml

Leebeus “LT” Overton – Milton
Right down the road from Fairchild is the top-ranked sophomore prospect in the country. Leebeus “LT” Overton is an outstanding defensive end prospect at 6-foot-5 250-pounds who is also dominating on the basketball court this winter. The big forward is a physical presence inside and has led Milton towards a big state-championship run. The Milton Eagles are one of the top high school basketball teams in the entire country and Overton is a big reason why. He made 20+ sacks on the football field a s sophomore last fall, and now he’s becoming an elite basketball prospect as well. Overton was recently offered a scholarship to play both basketball and football by Ohio State, and more schools will be looking to do the same. Overton is a truly special prospect that rarely comes around.
2023 DE Lebbeus "LT" Overton (@LebbeusO) has made a TON of plays tonight for @MiltonEagles_FB.
The hype is real. He couldn't be blocked in the first half.
He holds offers from #UGA, #Alabama, #LSU, #Oklahoma, among others.

Justice Haynes Justice Haynes 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Buford | 2023 State GA – Blessed Trinity
Just a few miles away from Overton is arguably the top running back in the state in Blessed Trinity star, Justice Haynes Justice Haynes 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Buford | 2023 State GA . Not only is he one of the top backs in the entire 2023 class, but he’s also an impressive baseball player. Haynes is the starting outfielder for one of the top baseball teams in the entire state and plays for a program that has produced top players for years now. Haynes is a silky-smooth hitter with an impressive swing and great speed on the bases. He covers a lot of ground in the outfield and has multiple D1 offers to play baseball as well as football. He’ll likely end up playing running back in college, but there’s no doubt that he might give baseball a chance to if given an opportunity.

Oscar Delp Oscar Delp 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE West Forsyth | 2022 State GA – West Forsyth
We’re headed back to West Forsyth to mention Delp, one of the top TE prospects across the country for the 2022 class. The long, athletic 6-foot-5 220-pounder is a major target for programs like Georgia, Clemson, Florida, Michigan, among others. Not only is he a top football prospect, but Delp is also an outstanding lacrosse player. Delp scored three goals two weeks ago against a strong Cambridge team and scored two more goals against Johns Creek last week. Delp’s ability to run down the field for size size makes him a threat to score every time he has the ball. He’s also a physical player and can be a force when close to the goal. Delp and his teammates have West Forsyth ranked as one of the top 7A lacrosse teams in the state.
WOW!
2022 TE Oscar Delp (@DelpOscar) just went behind the back for the score.
His third goal of the night.
This dude is something else…

Elite 2022 TE Oscar Delp (@DelpOscar) of West Forsyth (GA) is a big-time lacrosse player as well.
That’s a big 6’5 225-pounder scoring goals with ease. His 2nd so far tonight.
