That post had 772 replies to go along with about 200 DM’s. Most of which were highlight tapes. So we started our initial digging and here are four 2023 prospects from around the country, that should be on your radar.
DB: Kayden McCarson, 6’3, 190, West Port, FL
A hybrid, with experience at both outside linebacker and safety. McCarson has shown that he moves well, and can make tackles in space. His breaks are compact with no wasted steps. He’s see’s the quarterback extremely and will break once he takes his off-hand off the football. He can run with receivers up the seam and has loose hips to sink into his zone. I think he’s a true nickel at the next level.
ATH: Robby Washington, 5’11, 175, Freedom, FL
Washington can play on my team any day. This is a young man who can make something out of nothing and will make you pay for missing tackle attempts. He’s shown tremendous burst and acceleration, to explode through a hole. This is an athlete who can stop on a dime and use his vision to bounce a run to the outside. He’s got great top-end speed and can split two defenders at any time. When it’s all said and done, I think he’ll be playing at the FBS level.
OL: Evan Keefe Evan Keefe 6'3" | 250 lbs | DL Hilldale | 2023 State OK , 6’3, 240, Hilldale, OK
When you turn on Keefe’s tape, the first thing you will notice is the sheer effort he consistently competes with. This is a guy who is constantly looking to finish his blocks before the whistle is blown. The kid can run like a deer and makes working to the second level look easy. He accelerates through on contact and will tee off on down blocks. He needs to add some weight this off-season, but I do think he’s a really intriguing talent if he does so.
DT: Terry Simmons, 6’3, 295, Calvary Day, GA
An extremely twitchy big man that can create instant penetration off the snap. He explodes off the football with a low pad level, often beating opposing offensive linemen to their spot. Simmons has shown heavy heads to go along with a very strong lower half. He’s nearly impossible to single team and will simply throw blockers off of him. He does a good job of getting lockout before pushing and pulling to get off. To me, he’s a no-brainer division one type kid and the offers could be coming soon.
Other Names to Watch
DL: TJ McCauley, 6’2, 255, John Marshall, OK
DB: Toby Bolton, 5’10, 165, Cedar Shoals, GA
