There is no other place to begin other than with Sincere Thomas, a senior athlete out of Harry S. Truman HS. Sincere led the way in what was the game of the week in the United Ten league. HST held off Cheltenham’s comeback attempt to win their debut Spring game 34-28, and Thomas was nothing short of dominant. Here’s his whopping stat line: 7 catches, 179 yards, and 4 touchdowns! An incredible night for Thomas as well as his quarterback Terrell Delp, who fed the senior all of that production. Really like Delp’s size and poise in the pocket. Want to see him continue to develop. Makai Jackson also went off at defensive back for Truman. 3 tackles, 1 pass break up, and 1 pick-six that turned out to be the difference in the game. He’s earned a spot on our Watchlist to be ranked. Cheltenham wasn’t without talent. Senior Amani Ezell showed strong hands and an ability to create separation in the middle of the field. Tyree Townes Tyree Townes 6'0" | 160 lbs | ATH Cheltenham Highschool | 2022 PA is as fearless as they come. He was a force in run support from his Safety spot. We also have our eye on Zaire Williams, a 2024 prospect who burst onto our radar due to his solid play in Saturday’s loss.
Penn Wood’s Malik Brooks had himself a DAY against Academy Park. Three total scores and a ton of production came out of the senior running back/defensive back. The kid was all over the field, flashing a ton of traits that are sure to translate at the next level. Incredible lateral movement, great balance in and out of cuts, solid hands and is tough to bring down. His Week 1 film was fun to watch. As much fun as he was with the ball in his hands, he showed a serious understanding of zone concepts and when and where to sit on defense. The IQ is there and it showed. Junior athlete Jordin Jones impressed as well. His game is versatile much like Brooks’. Ton of breakaway speed and agility in the trenches. The tandem of Jones and Brooks make for matchup nightmares for any opposing team. Jones brought in two touchdowns as well as forcing two fumbles on defense. These two are a problem. Academy Park’s defense was in shambles for most of the day but monster junior Ibrahim Sanogo was the lone bright spot. More spotlight should be on this kid. He’s as athletic as edge rushers come and has a great get-off that allows him to be a consistent disruptor in the backfield, which he was, coming up with multiple pressures and TFLs.
In other games around the UX, Chester’s Anton Sterling and Father Judge’s Pat McShea were huge for their respective teams. Anton’s stat line was as follows, 15 att, 116 yards, 3 TDs, 8 tackles. The senior was as advertised in a 30-0 win over Interboro. McShea was a problem on defense. He did his part to secure a victory yet Father Judge came up short, losing 27-19 to Chicester. McShea caught an interception and forced a fumble late in the game.
