.Central Catholic (4-0)– Grant is the clear-cut top team in the PIL and they gave CC all they could handle for a half. Give Jr. QB Luke Johnson a lot of credit as he has looked great all year long. Underrated Sr. LB Jack Brown led the D with 4 sacks in the 35-21 win.
.Sunset (4-0)– The Apollos finally gave up some points, as the winless Beavers played pretty well, in the 63-31 loss to Sunset. Junior RB Caleb Kim Caleb Kim 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Sunset | 2022 State OR continued to kill it, rushing for 231 yards and 2 TDs on 17 carries.
.Tualatin (3-1)– The T-Wolves are legit. Each week the very young D1 perimeter continues to impress. 6A POY candidate Cole Prusia Cole Prusia 6'3" | 190 lbs | DB Tualatin | 2022 State OR went for another 150 total yards and 3 TDs (1 INT return) all in the first half, with Jr. ATH Malik Ross Malik Ross 6'0" | 190 lbs | ATH Tualatin | 2022 State OR going for 126 yards on the ground and 2 TDs, in the 43-13 win over Oregon City.
.Newberg (4-0)– It’s really unfortunate for the Tigers there aren’t playoffs as they would have a chance to make a run. 6-3 Sr WR Owen Hawley Owen Hawley 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Newberg | 2021 State OR looks like one of the top WR’s in Oregon (143 yards 2 TDs) and undersized Sophomore RB Price Pothier Price Pothier 5'7" | 170 lbs | RB Newberg | 2022 State OR is a dude. They smacked McMinnville 56-9.
.Sherwood (3-1)-A week after one of the biggest regular season wins in school history (27-7 @Jesuit), the Bowmen handled an improving Glencoe team 34-10. The talent within the Pacific Conference is definitely on the rise.
.Lakeridge (2-2)-Over the years the Pacers have struggled to compete with Tigard. On Friday they made a statement, playing with what is overall a very young group. Sophomore standout Ryan Oliver Ryan Oliver 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Lakeridge | 2023 State OR threw for another 300+ and 5 TDs, with Junior LB’s Zac Waible Zac Waible 6'2" | 215 lbs | LB Lakeridge | 2022 State OR and Nui Tovey Nui Tovey 6'3" | 230 lbs | LB Lakeridge | 2022 State OR looking like one of the top duos in the NW. Lakeridge handled the Tigers 34-17
.Jesuit (2-2)– This will be a battle every year as the Crusaders edged one of the fastest rising teams in the NW in Mountainside 20-14 (OT). Jesuit used ball control to keep the Mavericks at bay, with Jr. RB Michael Rincon Michael Rincon 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Jesuit | 2022 State OR carrying the ball 30 times for 222 yards.
.Mountainside (2-2)– Andrew Simpson Andrew Simpson 6'1" | 165 lbs | DB Mountainside | 2021 State OR continued to show that he is the real deal (2 TD’s, 2 INTs) but the Mavericks came up short. The Mavericks are projected to be one of the top teams in the state in the years ahead, but they first must beat Jesuit.
.West Salem (4-0)– The 28-20 victory over McNary wasn’t the most impressive win, but the Titans are undefeated and have a legit upper-class group. Senior RB Nate Garcia Nate Garcia 5'11" | 185 lbs | DB West Salem | 2021 State OR had a big night, rushing for 240 yards and a couple TDs.
.Clackamas (3-1)-The Cavs are young and will return one of the most impressive teams in the entire NW next season. OLB/DE Kaden Ludwick Kaden Ludwick 6'5" | 245 lbs | DL Clackamas | 2022 State OR , DT Logan Chastain Logan Chastain 6'0" | 275 lbs | DL Clackamas | 2022 State OR , CB KJ Johnson-Gibson KJ Johnson-Gibson 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Clackamas | 2022 State OR , and impressive Jr. RB Luke Ash are just a few of the youngsters who are back. Clack had its way with Sandy 35-0 and project as a conference and state title contender next year.
.Tigard (2-1)-As stated numerous times the Tigers run one of the top programs in Oregon from the youth on up. On Friday a young Lakeridge team got the best of them, losing 34-17 on the road.
.Lake Oswego (1-1)-The 42-7 loss to West Linn has more to do with the Lions being one of the better teams to come out of Oregon in some time. Expect LO to be a factor moving forward.
.Sheldon (2-0)-The Irish beat a decent 5A team in Churchill 27-7. Sheldon is another team which is relatively young and isn’t necessarily a contender on a state wide level. Sophomore QB Brock Thomas Brock Thomas 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Sheldon | 2023 State OR is incredibly talented and gives them a chance in the years ahead.
.North Medford (3-1)– One of the more intriguing teams in Oregon as the Black Tornado have a plethora of young talent. On Friday they did what was expected beating Roseburg 35-0.
