Turner-Gooden transferred to St. Bernard from Calabasas this past offseason. He is the No. 7 overall prospect in California’s class of 2022 according to Prep Redzone.
He is a receiver and defensive back and was recruited to play safety by the Sun Devils.
It’s easy to see why Turner-Gooden chose Arizona State. His former coach at Calabasas, Chris Claiborne, is on the coaching staff there.
“It was all about my relationships over there,” Turner-Gooden told Greg Biggins of 247Sports. “I have a great relationship with Chris Hawkins, the DB coach and have known him for years. He’s been recruiting me since he was at USC when I was just a freshman and I’m really comfortable with him.”
“Then you have my old high school coach, Chris Claiborne, who I played for my first two years at Calabasas and that was huge for me too. My whole family loves him and is really comfortable with him as someone who will be able to watch out for me. This was definitely a family decision and my family fully supports it.”
He still plans on taking his visits when the NCAA allows. He is the first prospect from California in Arizona State’s 2022 recruiting class.

Colony receiver gets rare early offer from UCLA
UCLA is not known for offering guys early in recruitment but they made an exception when they offered Colony (Ontario) receiver Antoine Jones Antoine Jones 6'0" | 195 lbs | WR Colony | 2022 State CA on Tuesday.
Jones is a 6-foot-4, 190 pounds and has put on a lot of weight since his sophomore season. Some scouts view him as a possible tight end type at the next level as well.
He has eight offers and Arizona State and UCLA are the two most high-profile.
Jones said that UCLA assistant coach Jerry Neuheisel called him after a practice and talked to him about how he could fit in on the football team and academically at UCLA and offered him at the end of the phone call.
It will be interesting to see what other schools offer Jones after he plays a shortened season over the next two months.
Mater Dei newcomer adding offers
Athlete Tanner Salisbury Tanner Salisbury 6'2" | 205 lbs | LB Mater Dei | 2022 State CA of Mater Dei (Santa Ana) added four offers in the month of February.

Salisbury played his sophomore season at San Ramon Valley High of Danville. He averaged 12 yards per catch and had three touchdowns.
He told 247Sports that a few other big schools are interested but want to see more game film before making an official offer.
Those schools will get their chance when Mater Dei plays a five game Trinity League schedule in the next two months.
